The curious case of Melbourne Heart, a club that said all the right things but were never able to translate those principles into reality.…
It was after the now-famous Christmas derby last season and an epic encounter between the accomplished favourite son Melbourne Victory and their under-performing little…
We will find out next season who the real heartbeat of Brisbane’s recent success was.
For me, the tempo was set at the start by Paartalu and Matt Smith, and neither of the aforementioned.
Having said that, it’s a common occurrence that strikers claim more fame than midfielders, favouring Berisha over Broich.
2014-2015 is setting up to be a great season, regardless.
Broich, not Berisha, is Brisbane's key man
Thanks for the reply, Stevo. Good name too.
If LFC, or anyone for that matter, took over MV with the intention of changing the identity of the club, I would no longer support it.
I have a connection to MVFC, having only missed a handful of home games since their inception. The image that the club has forged for itself in such a short space of time (along with the other two start-up clubs in SFC and CC when the A-League started) is something to be very proud of and something that I am not shy to boast about over the proverbial pint and yarn.
For all the articles of Heart’s lack of identity in reaching out to new fans, they still had one that the existing fans had created themselves. And I’m of no doubt that the die hard in the southern end of Heart games are rightly as proud of the club’s symbols as I am with mine.
4 years or 100 years, it is still your club. If the four years of supporting Melbourne Heart were so trivial that one would accept those four years to be annihilated off the history books for a cheque then I would dare say that that person wasn’t really a supporter to begin with.
