I woke up on Sunday morning to discover two things. Firstly, Jarryd Hayne had made the San Francisco 49ers 53-man roster. And secondly, I…
And then they can move the statue outside Lucas Oil Stadium to immortalise him. Perfect!
Playoff predictor: Forecasting the final three weeks of the NFL
I’ll be in the US for the conference championship games and would love to see those two match-ups, Worlds Biggest. At this stage I like the Packers vs Patriots too. Should be interesting on neutral territory especially in the heat of the desert for two cold weather teams.

Agreed, King cowboy. I liked Bridgewater at Louisville, but I thought he might have been a little undersized and lean to make the leap straight to the pros. The difference between Bridgewater and Smith thus far is that Teddy has been poised and calm and Smith’s play seems to become erratic pretty early in a game. If the Vikes add some talent around him Teddy could prove to be a good draft pick and the first long-term QB they have had since Daunte Culpepper.
Bridgewater provides hope for dejected Vikings fans
Yeah Ryan is definitely gone and Geno has shown he is not the long-term answer at QB. They tried to add some talent around this season and they were much worse than last year. They need a complete rebuild and I keep reading that GM John Idzik has lost support within the organisation. He has only been there two seasons and came highly recommended from the Seahawks. But maybe Woody Johnson should get rid of him too. Jim Harbaugh is the best option for the Jets, but he might go back to coaching college.

No. The NFL doesn’t have a development league like the NBA. He trains and prepares like he is going to play.
It's not Johnny Football time in Cleveland
I agree. The injury which either necessitated or was followed by the insistence to become a pocket passer was the beginning of the end. I have visions of Griffin racing down the sideline and out-running cornerbacks into the end zone. There is no doubt he is/was an incredible athlete and he had a good arm, but he has lost his mojo already in DC.
RGIII a Washington wash-out
Sorry, Worlds Biggest. Need a big effort from the 49ers now.
Pivotal NFC match-ups on the menu for Thanksgiving slate of games
Watkins has played every game and has 684 yards and five touchdowns. ODB has played five games and has 609 yards and five touchdowns. If anyone is going to beat him out it will be Kelvin Benjamin – 768 yards and eight TDs.
Odell Beckham Jr catches the world's attention
I assure you I’m not jumping on the bandwagon. The point of the article was to outline that I have felt this way about the NFL since I started watching it 10 years or so ago and OBJ provided tangible evidence beamed around the world of what I had been trying to say. I’ll tell you what, if he doesn’t win Rookie of the Year I’ll buy you a coke.

I was being a bit loose when I said football, I meant NFL. I have amended it.

I wholeheartedly disagree with you, sir. But you are entitled to your opinion.

“It has increased Lambeau Field’s capacity to 80,750 – the second largest in the National Football League.”

I’m glad you mentioned baseball. There are so many iconic parks that have their only personality and history. I would love to see a baseball game in either of the two oldest ball parks – Wrigley Field or Fenway Park. Now that would be special.
Lambeau Field is top of my sporting bucket list
All good answers! Seattle would be unreal. I believe it’s about a 10-year wait on the list for a Seahawks season ticket. The 12s certainly provide an incredible atmosphere to play in.

Also, Trent Dilfer with the Ravens and Brad Johnson with the Bucs
Luck ready to claim Manning's throne
Ok intent aside, but I’m curious to hear who you guys think should end responsible for punishing Peterson? The courts? The NFL? Both? Goodell appears to be correcting the mistakes of the legal system rather than looking to them for guidance. Is this going to be the norm now or is Adrian Peterson the exception?
Peterson being punished for the acts of others
He showed remorse, mushi. I firmly believe his crime is one of ignorance and stupidity and not malice.
Peterson being punished for the acts of others
Hey Tigranes. No 52 jersey. But I did think it was interesting that the double murder stuff was always in the background of Lewis’s career, until the Ravens made the Super Bowl in 2012-2013 when it was suddenly huge news again and was constantly being revisited by mainstream media. Surely he is either involved/responsible or not, that argument shouldn’t be revisited just because his name is in the news again a decade after the fact.
Peterson being punished for the acts of others
Good point, James. What Hardy did sounds deplorable, but you’re right he was caught up in the Ray Rice fall out as well.
Peterson being punished for the acts of others
Yep Polynesian. You’re right traditionally Polynesian players have been linebackers and offensive and defensive line, but plenty of talent in those countries that could be put to use in college football and the NFL.
