On flatter tracks this English batting unit will do fine..Mentally their Young batsmen don’t seem to be ready for a fight..that is a big concern..Dan Lawrence looks fiesty..their bowling options on seam and bouncier wickets is good..Leach was quite threatening in India..he bowls the ‘heavy’ ball than slow loopy ones like Bess..I think he can get good bounce in Aus, much like Lyon.

I said on its way..India now have a squad from which they can pick up a set of players suitable for any condition..India earlier used to lack a quality third seamer..Again, even the mighty Aussies beat India in India only once..Sachin did not play the first two tests and had to rushed half fit..Nobody is questioning the Aussie juggernaut..

Look at Ricky Ponting’s performance in India..He must have played in 4 test series..One century I remember in Bangalore in 2008..Never had a dominant or even half dominant series in India..So, do you mean to Say Ponting is not a great of the game..He is a Bonafide great, no doubt..

Paul, the failing players like Rahane etc have immediate replacements in Sundar and Pant batting higher or a KL Rahul etc coming in..it is this depth that I am impressed with and not to mention the tenacity..they are on their way to greatness..England in England, WTC vs NZ will show their capabilities

I don’t want to hype up Root..on the contrary, Indians played equally poorly from the crease..just look at the dismissals..none of them made any effort to get to the pitch to smother the spin..You don’t get the basics of batting against spin right, then can’t complain about the pitch

England has set the narrative already, whether you like it or not..2019 World cup type pitches are needed to stop ODI games from becoming 50 over T20..The fact that England lost to India after India started to play like them is proof on how teams are playing to this narrative
