England has set the narrative already, whether you like it or not..2019 World cup type pitches are needed to stop ODI games from becoming 50 over T20..The fact that England lost to India after India started to play like them is proof on how teams are playing to this narrative

What does the India vs England white-ball series portend for ODI cricket?

Going back to 1 white ball per innings will bring back reverse swing..these days, 25 overs per ball makes it two T20 innings in one 50 over innings

What does the India vs England white-ball series portend for ODI cricket?

Hi,

It is not a literal comparison of teams. In today’s white ball cricket, England are the top dog and are setting the narrative as well

What does the India vs England white-ball series portend for ODI cricket?

Hi Paul, I have written about my choices for the Indian team for the T20 world cup..I will write one about the tactics

What should the English T20 team do to win the World Cup in India?

The thing that works for Shardul is his ability to tonk a few..on pitches where the ball grips, Shardul can bowl his cutters and get wickets

My Indian team for the T20 World Cup

Surya Kumar Yadav or Shreyas Iyer or Rishabh Pant can play No.4 in ODIs

The conundrum of the number four position in Indian white-ball cricket

Ishan Kishan will keep Paul

My Indian team for the T20 World Cup

Dew could be a big issue..

My Indian team for the T20 World Cup

Rishabh is a lefty which helps big time..Iyer is too good to be kept outside the XI..such is the quality of those inside the XI

My Indian team for the T20 World Cup

Yes, earlier start will help for sure..over rate was abysmal in this series..ICC needs to ensure that 20 overs don’t take 2 hours

My Indian team for the T20 World Cup

Indian batting is better than many of the teams..however, they are not there when compared to England, who are the thought leader in this format..WI can match England with the firepower on their day..

India and T20 cricket: A love affair that is yet to turn into a marriage

India is getting there with Tests..But ODI and T20, India is behind the curve..

India and T20 cricket: A love affair that is yet to turn into a marriage

DK got plenty of chances to establish himself..he has to blame himself a bit here..

India and T20 cricket: A love affair that is yet to turn into a marriage

England do it beautifully from the top order till the end..Relentless strokeplay by very talented white ball players..

India and T20 cricket: A love affair that is yet to turn into a marriage

Hiers need not match exactly with their lineage..the impact Pant will have with the bat will match that of Sachin, the test cricketer..

Rishabh Pant: Sachin Tendulkar's heir apparent?

At the international level, Pant is still struggling in ODI and T20 to establish himself. I think he will be far more successful in tests than in LOI..much like Sehwag

Rishabh Pant: Sachin Tendulkar's heir apparent?

On flatter tracks this English batting unit will do fine..Mentally their Young batsmen don’t seem to be ready for a fight..that is a big concern..Dan Lawrence looks fiesty..their bowling options on seam and bouncier wickets is good..Leach was quite threatening in India..he bowls the ‘heavy’ ball than slow loopy ones like Bess..I think he can get good bounce in Aus, much like Lyon.

Where do England stand after the Indian Test series?

I said on its way..India now have a squad from which they can pick up a set of players suitable for any condition..India earlier used to lack a quality third seamer..Again, even the mighty Aussies beat India in India only once..Sachin did not play the first two tests and had to rushed half fit..Nobody is questioning the Aussie juggernaut..

An English lesson on how not to play a Test series in India

Look at Ricky Ponting’s performance in India..He must have played in 4 test series..One century I remember in Bangalore in 2008..Never had a dominant or even half dominant series in India..So, do you mean to Say Ponting is not a great of the game..He is a Bonafide great, no doubt..

An English lesson on how not to play a Test series in India

Paul, the failing players like Rahane etc have immediate replacements in Sundar and Pant batting higher or a KL Rahul etc coming in..it is this depth that I am impressed with and not to mention the tenacity..they are on their way to greatness..England in England, WTC vs NZ will show their capabilities

An English lesson on how not to play a Test series in India

Any one of Sibley, Bairstow, Oli Pope, Crawley..Buttler will be one of my first picks in an English team for any format

An English lesson on how not to play a Test series in India

Buttler as a batsman should have played..

An English lesson on how not to play a Test series in India

Ok, I respect your opinion.. However, you didn’t get the facts right..I didn’t see a ball jump up and another keep low..Also, you have absolutely no idea of how good Axar Patel is in Indian domestic circuit, specifically on turners..

Think India's two-day Test pitch was unplayable? That’s a myth

Totally agree..Moen 2014 exposed India” myth of spin batting..

Think India's two-day Test pitch was unplayable? That’s a myth

I don’t want to hype up Root..on the contrary, Indians played equally poorly from the crease..just look at the dismissals..none of them made any effort to get to the pitch to smother the spin..You don’t get the basics of batting against spin right, then can’t complain about the pitch
