Shami for sure, 23 wickets at 9 is amazing. More wickets than anyone else and in only 6 games. The batting efforts of many in this tournament has been great so to stand head and shoulders above any other bowler is even more amazing.

'Perfect picture': King Kohli smashes ton to break Tendulkar's world record as India send New Zealand out of World Cup

Kohli might not catch Tendulkar’s runs total even if he plays as long as he did, but his centuries total whereever it ends up may never be beaten since ODIs are taking a backseat to T20 these days.

I’ll back South Africa to win if they bat first.

Unifying the belts: Australia could become cricket’s first triple champions ... but Proteas can put the choke on them

Living in Brisbane, I am happy to see that I could see Manly 3 times “locally” next year with Titans, Dolphins and Brisbane. 😁 😁

The Australian line-up that can win the Cricket World Cup … if the selectors make the right calls

I was hopeful last year when early on Manly were fighting it out for top spot but it wasn’t to be. Turbo always seems to be the key, I went to magic round last year and he was on the field but “not on the field”. He was there but seemed hesitant to be involved, probably due to past injuries. There was no magic.

I think if Turbo can get back into the proper headspace, watch out.

Smart Signings: Seibold's squad building is going nicely - if Manly can actually get their best on the field

The selectors have a knack for picking the wrong player. I still expect Harris to be picked until I see otherwise.

Sheffield Shield Talking Points: WA on a roll, Bancroft vs Renshaw for Warner's spot and bumbling Blues sink into abyss

Well said. I think Australia might feel they missed out too on improving their NRR. I don’t think they expected such a tight game.

Glenn the Greatest - ever! Maxwell's magnificent double-ton rescues Aussies, stuns Afghanistan in WC epic

Marcus Harris with a golden duck and 11 didn’t further his chances, but you can be sure he still has the golden selection ticket.

Sheffield Shield Wrap: Who impressed in Round 3?

Maybe but having already won premierships, he might want to try somewhere else. Potentially 300K more per year is a lot of dosh. But then, how much money does someone need? Penrith offered 850K per year, ~16K per week before tax, I wouldn’t know what to do with so much.

Can Flanno prescribe a miracle cure to revive the Dragons in 2024, or will it just be another year on life support?

India seem likely winners, but South Africa are very impressive right now and could go all the way.

Cricket World Cup Power Rankings: England are rubbish and so are Pakistan - but here come the Aussies

I was periodically checking in on the scores and it seemed like Pakistan were just stuck in second gear during their batting innings. The run rate was barely above 5 for most of the innings. I guess ‘the other’ Pakistan played this game.

Afghanistan create history by stunning Pakistan ... boosting Australia's World Cup hopes and sending England to last

Have Pakistan and England been hired to help Australia qualify? Job done.

Kohli 273 innings to get to 48 centuries. Tendulkar played 452 innings and finished with 49. If Kohli plays as long as Sachin did, where will he end up?

Kohli inspires India to big win over Bangladesh with brilliant century to close in on Tendulkar's world record

Currently you would have to say that there is no reason or excuse for Harris to replace Warner when he is done. I think you would have to go with Bancroft. He seems to have continued where he left off last year.

Sheffield Shield round 2 wrap: Who's making their claims for a test spot this summer?

I was just saying to someone yesterday that South Africa might be the team to beat and then…..

Angry Aussies are back with lift in intensity but still yet to prove they're legit World Cup contenders

If Maxwell hadn’t had his best bowing figures recently, they might have called for a proper spinner. But the selectors always have blinders on.

Watch as Maxwell goes back into his hole now. Had one good game, time for 9 off.

Marshter blaster: Mitchell sizzles in stifling heat as Aussies end pre-World Cup slump with thumping win over India

I have only ever had a passing interest in Rugby, but thought I would recognise at least one name, but no. Who are these people? I would think looking at sports news often would make a name stand out to me. In the past you would always hear about the Lynaghs and Giteaus when just clicking through a website.

Wallabies DIY player ratings from loss to Wales: TWENTY-THREE fails as captain, fullback nightmares sum up dark day

My thoughts exactly. He doesn’t deserve to be celebrated with the permanent mark left behind.

Every player rated from the fifth Ashes Test: Spinner shines, Davey defies doubters, but is Cummins cooked?

I really thought it would have been Anderson retiring, no Broad. That caught me by surprise. Anderson better feast on lesser teams now or he might get the tap on the shoulder.

Every player rated from the fifth Ashes Test: Spinner shines, Davey defies doubters, but is Cummins cooked?

It needs to start with the selectors. Given history of not wanting to tour certain players because of their historical weakness, Warner being repeatedly selected for England despite plenty of evidence that he shouldn’t be there just shows that the selectors need to change and be brave enough to give a player the tap on the shoulder when needed for the benefit of the team. Otherwise you just end up with a bunch of old fogies. I am all for giving a player a chance but so many times a player is given more chances than needed, will then hit it big and then go back to mediocrity knowing that they are safe for a while.

Why Australia need to start regenerating ageing Test team now before it’s too late

Horses for courses…except Warner.
