Brett is a former Wallaby and president of Eastwood Rugby Club
He applied to join the board of RA but was rejected as they wanted people from outside rugby with business experience
RA is a circus and I guarantee that most if not all Directors are in France on the game’s dime
'Complete dismantling': Eddie apologises for World Cup debacle, Hoops calls out moment that summed it up
Castle is one of the biggest failures in sports administration
Not enough is said about her getting the RA job after running the Bulldogs into the ground
'Bloody disappointed: Wallabies OUT of World Cup as nation to miss finals for first time, Eddie fights for survival
The declaration has already been a failure irrespective of what happens tomorrow as it was predicated upon getting early wickets today
All it achieved was forfeiting the chance of more first innings runs
Root ton, reverse-ramps, first-ball mayhem and shock declaration - Aussies endure peak Bazball on thrilling opening day
“Sizzling batting form” = 3 innings for 4 runs 😂
Anyway, hopefully the likes of Marsh and Harris are simply going on a paid holiday as we’re obviously in real trouble if they’re required
Ashes squad announced: Marsh gets surprise recall, Warner avoids axe but two openers picked as cover, Morris out
Hashim Amla retired from test cricket in 2019
He had a similar season to Harris 3 years later at the age of 39 in 2022 and promptly retired from all cricket
Harris is a reasonable fc player and nothing more
Scoreboard never lies
Warner 'at the mercy of selection': Bailey refuses to guarantee veteran's spot as Harris leapfrogs Renshaw
There’s a guy in Harris’ own county team who finished with similar season stats and has had a similar career
Literally nobody thinks that he should be playing for England
Warner 'at the mercy of selection': Bailey refuses to guarantee veteran's spot as Harris leapfrogs Renshaw
Watch them bat!
Harris hasn’t improved at all while Bancroft has at least made some positive progress
Still have no faith in him at test level but at least he’s improving
And forget about County form
An Englishman made 400 last season and he’s nowhere near playing in their test team
Warner 'at the mercy of selection': Bailey refuses to guarantee veteran's spot as Harris leapfrogs Renshaw
Harris has one of the worst test records in Australian test history & is a passenger in the field
I am not enamoured by the techniques of either Bancroft or Renshaw but at least they can field while the former has an outstanding Shield season behind him and the other has youth on his side
Harris is truly a bewildering selection
Warner 'at the mercy of selection': Bailey refuses to guarantee veteran's spot as Harris leapfrogs Renshaw
Smith is textbook perfect at point of impact and that’s all that matters
Handscomb is far from it
Handscomb and the spotlight on being different
“Opportunistic polishing” lol
Trescothic admitted that he experimented with several different types of lozenges before settling on Murray Mints as it yielded the best results
There was literally nothing opportunistic about it
Calm yourselves people: Steve Smith’s behaviour isn’t that unusual
Great stuff
I have promised my young son a trip to see the Sixers next season if he does well at school
While Philly is a nice city, I’d prefer to see Big Ben and Joel in LA against the Lakers
Random observations from the experience of a lifetime: Sitting courtside at a Lakers game
Doran was a child prodigy selected on the basis of performances against his own age group not men (iirc he might not have even scored an A grade ton before making his fc debut)
He’s a wonderful talent with a very solid technique but I’d prefer to see him keep racking up runs in the shield for a while yet as he’s still very young and only just finding his game
Peter Handscomb has no business being on the South Africa tour
Mark Harris could kick a rugby ball miles but the technique required to kick a NFL ball is different (e.g. different shaped ball and no run up) as are the objectives
This is why 2 of the greatest kickers you will see anywhere (Rocca and Graham) didn’t walk straight in
Jarryd Hayne quits Parramatta Eels to trial with the NFL
Totally bizarre
Most league backs don’t enjoy union as they are far more involved in the game in league
If Hayne makes the cut, he’d see less of ball in a season of NFL than he would in a game of league
Jarryd Hayne quits Parramatta Eels to trial with the NFL
Maybe it’s just luck of the draw but Behrendorff has been pretty ordinary on virtually every occasion that I have seen him bowl.
From what I have seen, Rainbird is closer to the finished article
Forget about Pat Cummins...for now
Track is breaking up in a couple of places whilst millions of people are channel surfing
In the meantime, cars are being rebuilt on the grid so the first part is irrelevant so far as car durability is concerned
Horrible advertisement for the sport in Oz
[VIDEO] Bathurst 1000: Highlights, race updates, preview and commentary
And, in the meantime, the majority of Victorian clubs continue to flirt with bankruptcy despite AFL handouts
What’s even more ridiculous is that the Swans’ biggest critic (Collingwood), receive more than a million bucks more than Sydney in handouts
Even it up – no COLA, no handouts, no guarantees and let the best team win from the 10 left standing
The Swans played by COLA rules, so why are they being punished?
The AFL should threaten to remove COLA, bank guarantees for struggling clubs and standardize club distributions
Something tells me that this would see an end to the whinging from many mexicans
The Swans played by COLA rules, so why are they being punished?
The sooner clubs all play by the same rules the better
Unfortunately that will mean Brisbane and several Melbourne clubs will have to shut their doors
The Swans played by COLA rules, so why are they being punished?
That’s the point
I have written elsewhere that England should have picked him for T20 WC (anyone that doesn’t think he is one of England’s best players in this format is taking the piss) but omitted him from the SL tests citing the need to look to the future etc
I could have written a plausible press release in 2 minutes flat and it would have avoided much of this nonsense
But no, the ECB wanted to stick the knife in and twist it whilst breaching a NDA in the process
Sorry but they are copping everything they deserve
What’s more, I cant say that they I’m surprised as the Chairman is the same bloke who brokered a partnership with Alan Stanford
Pietersen's rantings a depressing affair
In Summary
KP: hard to work with but hardly unmanageable
AF: down-hill skier when it comes to management
AF uses whatever credit he has left to cast KP as the scapegoat for Ashes debacle and shore up his future employment
And to think that all the ECB needed to do to avoid this debacle was pick KP for the T20 WC, leave him out of the tests vs SL (citing new era, different direction, blah blah blah) and treat him with a tiny bit of respect as he headed off into T20 retirement
No end in sight to the sacking saga as Kevin Pietersen releases his book
It has to do with cost
All things being equal, does anyone in their right mind seriously think that Hird is the best person to coach the Bombers next season?
No way, no how
James Hird must go and everyone knows it
It was the EFC Board that gave him a contract extension so they only have themselves to blame
James Hird must go and everyone knows it
He’s on http://2smsupernetwork.com/talkin-sport/
I believe that he is an advocate for a NRL style national club competition where existing clubs (maybe 10) play on at least a semi-pro basis to provide a paid tier between amateur and full time professionalism
He believes that there’s a massive player retention problem as other codes pay athletes earlier plus there’s no tribal support for the current professional franchises
