Yep ! I’m still trying to understand how the Panthers couldn’t match the Tigers average offer to retain Turuva ?

NRL News: Bennett seeks swift Souths resolution, Robinson says Roosters cashed up to replace Keary

You are probably right, Nat ! His form hadn’t been that bad, but he hasn’t been playing recently, yet again. And that worries some of us NSW fans. He can find trouble .

If Maguire is picking his Blues team on 'character', here's who is in - and who he should avoid at all costs

Gotcha, now!! Madge needs to get the middle third right. QLD have recently dominated there with Collins , Tino, Flegler, Gilbert, Cotter & Hunt/Grant in the guts. NSW have a couple of advantages this year with Tino & Gilbert out, and it seems Flegler might be having troubles still ? But who do we pick for the middle third ? Not sure we need to change them all, but we need to get the bench right. We need Haas to really step up as he has never dominated the QLD pack like he does in Club footy. You probably need to have Jake in there for his defence, but he offers less impact with the ball. Yeo will lock the middle third and is generally good there. I would have Api at 9 ( if he is unavailable, Mitch Kenny would block the middle well for NSW). I have a dark horse on the bench, I would like to see in there, one of your boys, Tom Hazelton. He is big and quick and fit, can score a try, and takes some handling in the middle. And he could be sitting next to another Shark in Cam McInnes to cover the middle third like Cotter does for QLD, or he can cover for the 9 if needed. If I stick with Martin & Murray on the edges, I would probably add another backrower on the bench and a utility back. Say, the likes of a “switchable” mid to edge forward in Mitch Barnett and maybe a Paps to cover the backs or dummy half in the 14 ?

Yep. I’m pretty confident that Lomax would not be a Madge type of player. Regarding the centres , all NSW fans would love to have Mitchell in there at his best. But will we ever see his best again? Has he been saving it just for Origin ? Will Madge take the punt on him? Or will he go with Crichton & Turbo if they are fit to go? I wouldn’t consider Best or Staggs ahead of those two.

Who is BS ? The halves go well when their pack dominates. The Panthers pack has been very dominant in recent years. The NSW pack has not!

Thanks boys ! I’m tossing up between a slog out in the forwards, maybe favouring the Raiders? Or DCE getting them again with his kicking game ? DCE loves the mud.

'We’re not going to see the 40-0 Raiders': Seibold's quest for consistency as amazing Manly stat revealed

Hasn’t Wighton retired from rep matches? If you assume Cleary gets the 7 and plays on his preferred right side, you probably need a left sided, left kicker at 6. The choice seems to be between Luai, Cody or Burton? Luai was poor last night ( I’m sure he was running around looking for Cleary ?) . Cody has been poor all year. Burton has defensive issues at 6 ? So, do they risk the right sided Hynes to play on the left? Will that work with two dominant playmakers?

What’s weather like over there at Brookie ? I’m out west and we haven’t much rain at all, but I keep seeing wet forecasts in Sydney all week ? Is it all coastal ? Asking for a desperate punter ! 😛

Just 10 years ! But he needed Bennett to get there ! Again….spooky ?

Besieged Bunnies show some fight before Panthers flex their muscles - but Tago facing ban for dangerous hip drop

Seems the Chooks will have plenty of spare cash next year? But with no high profile locals available to spend it on ? Unless they look for some English star that might make the NRL grade ?

NRL News: Bennett seeks swift Souths resolution, Robinson says Roosters cashed up to replace Keary

100% in agreement there, Pat ! You don’t win a whole bunch of premierships like Api & Luai unless you are a fully committed team player.

Yep ! And as a fashion guru, he could re-design their jumpers and jeans too ! 😛

Can he fight ?

I think the only hard part of Gould’s life is the decision as to where to invest all his money he has pilfered from the NRL over the decades ! 😛

They have had tough draw to start with. Now they get a reasonable stretch of matches to try to revive their season. If Latrelle gets serious now, they might yet save the season. They still have some 8 Origin players and an English international in their squad !

A good defender and he kicks goals at 80%.

He and Edwards have been consistently the Panthers two best players every match. Both playing at the heights of their talents at present.

Not surprising really .
Ben Hornby’s debut match as a player for St George in 2000: Panthers 42 – Dragons 12

Spooky !

Seriously, GB ! Such knowledge of the game . You obviously have been at the Panthers weekly ” How to maim an opposition player” training session ? 😛

They could have made it much simpler by sticking to the Greek name change strategy of using the same Christian names and surnames – like Peter Peters , Tony Anthony, Joe Joseph ! 😛

Is Carter Gordon really an NRL prospect... and which Australian rugby legends could have made the switch too?

The trouble is Tony, you just can’t achieve clarity & consistency in a game with so many subjective based rulings all being determined by human beings ! There really is just one consistent rule, the rule of “swings & roundabouts” of good and bad fortune over time.

Rules that cruel the NRL: Inconsistency and psychic silliness holding back the game

I’m not so sure ! Parramatta to Grappa Restaurant at Leichhardt is just 22 minutes . Heffron Park to Grappa Restaurant is 27 minutes ! Look a done deal to me ! 😛

The question Bennett needs to address before deciding if he wants to return to Rabbitohs

Yep! Both Souths & Parra need to sort out their front rows if Bennett is to get either of them working well again.

The question Bennett needs to address before deciding if he wants to return to Rabbitohs

Yep ! The only real question old Benny will be asking is whether the Grappa Ristorante in Norton St still operating ? 😛

The question Bennett needs to address before deciding if he wants to return to Rabbitohs

Trouble is BG, when the winners look so obvious in all these games, there is usually a bunch of upsets brewing. Will Souths react to the coach sacking against the ‘Cleary-less” Panthers ? Change of coach often brings about a form change at least for one match. Broncos v Chooks looks a coin toss ? Cows v Bennett’s Dolphins ? Knights v Warriors ? The local Derby Sharks v Dragons ?
