Yes Paul I agree, Its a little ambitious to proclaim that Marsh is the answer to Australia’s middle order problems after one innings of 39.

In Marsh We Trust: Mitch keeps Australia at the top of the T20 rankings

Congratulations Australia well done, now we can look forward to the 50 over games.

Australia topple England to end T20 series

A word to explain how the name Broad’s Bunny came about. The ‘Barmy Army’ put both hands on the side of their head and waggled their fingers as Warner walked off and it was taken up by the rest of the crowd.

Buttler does it: Aussies lose T20 series

Good news for Australia, Butler won’t be playing in the last 20 x 20 game but will be back for the 50 over games. Broad is over the moon as his Bunny is back for a second try.

Buttler does it: Aussies lose T20 series

Don’t be too disappointed at least Australia are getting some game time in. Knowing when cruise and when to attack is very important in any any short game format .Six hits please the crowd but carry a risk factor, deciding when and when not to use them and pace the game to win is vital.

Buttler does it: Aussies lose T20 series

Well that’s the wrap with one game to play. Now our attention will turn to the 50 over games.

What should have been a cake walk ended in a win for England, so who is to blame? Take your pick. Smith and Warner, having around forty to get, could have finished the game at a canter by playing proper cricket shots and the it would be over with one or two overs to spare. Maxwell I agree a horrible shot and out. Stoinis seventeen heaves mostly over :Cow Corner: and one success and continued with the same shot. There is only one word that can describe that approach– Panic. Maybe you should also ask what was the captain doing.

Australia snatch T20 defeat from the jaws of victory

Yes you’re right, maybe that’s the difference of how both sides choose to comment on a game.

Australia snatch T20 defeat from the jaws of victory

It takes two sides to play a game of cricket, to reserve your comments to only one seems a little strange if not a bit one sided.

Australia snatch T20 defeat from the jaws of victory

Great game, nail biting, edge of the chair stuff and now everyone is a pundit in retrospect telling us what we already know. What makes cricket fascinating to watch is the sheer unpredictability of the game and the result. For example, who would give even a chance of winning a game nine wickets down and 77 runs behind? Very few but it did happen. Is there any congratulations given to England for wining the game? No, then I’m not surprised. So we will have to be content to what the record book tells us, England- one Australia- 0. But no worries,it starts all over again on Sunday.

Australia snatch T20 defeat from the jaws of victory

Yes its great to see the Australia over here but I wouldn’t take these matches too seriously, especially two Twenty Twenty games. England have their eyes set firmly on India next year and will use these games to hopefully strengthen their team for next year. So expect a few names playing that are not known to Australian viewers.
The preparation to allow these games to be played is pretty impressive, for example, when a six lands in the empty seats only a player is allowed retrieve it, support staff are not allowed to touch the ball, players safety is paramount. Of course we all like to see our team win but these are not normal times.
Finally, have Australia got a good swing bowler? You’re going to need one.

Australia’s UK tour takes on importance of a different kind

Don’t get too excited, Pakistan skittered in the second innings and beaten

Even Ben Stokes couldn't handle this peach from Pakistan quick

Like any other bowler

Has Broad pulled the wool over our eyes?

Where did you get the idea that England’s batting is fragile when its usual accepted that England can bat down through the order, thus taking the advantage of the older ball as it gets softer. Sure every team have hiccups, but as a general rule England bat all the way down though their innings.

The real test of Pakistan's young bowling and England's fragile batting

I don’t think that you can take this England’s team as anyway near to their top 50×50 squad. A mix of those that been given their chance and failed to a few who deserved a chance to impress. A note on Peter’s post. If Ireland’s cricket team start to play as well as their Rugby side I’m sure you will see the support grow.

How Ireland can upset England

I admire your optimism

How Ireland can upset England

I agree, Archer has a lot to learn and Root is a good batsman but as a captain? Hmm.

Stuart Broad makes history as England down Windies

I would like to state my thanks to the W Indies for making Test cricket possible for us. They had to go into a two weeks isolation on arrival which is certainly not the best way to prepare for a Test match and went on to beat England in the first encounter.
Well done lads.

England on top after Day 1 of third Windies Test

Fair enough but its pretty useless trying to predict the outcome of any match before the first innings is completed. I waited until the third day before guessing the result and so it proved to be, England won by 269 runs

England on top after Day 1 of third Windies Test

They made 369, WI short of 200. England 2nd innings 226 for 2 dec. WI require nearly 400 to win and have lost 2 wickets in under half an hours play, done and dusted, only rain for two days can save them.

England on top after Day 1 of third Windies Test

So England win in four days by over a hundred runs but that is due to playing a poor West Indies side who just happen to beat England in the first Test by over a hundred runs.
Are you seriously saying that if a star player moved to Australia he wouldn’t be snapped up by the selectors when he qualified under the rules? pull the other one.
I wouldn’t be so keen to dismiss the currant West Indies side as poor. If they can get their star bowler fit they could well spring a few surprises on teams that dismisses them as poor.

England are piecing together their side for next year's Ashes

What to get near to 470? I doubt it.

Three reasons why England lost the first Test against the West Indies

I agree with the original post but not with quite for the same reasons. Archer has an habit that he bowls reasonable fast for a couple of overs and then drops down to the middle eighties, about the speed of Broad but without the experience of the forma. Indecently, Wood is much faster a bowler than Archer.
As for breaking the breaking the rules for traveling he deserved to be dropped, a stupid thing to do,he could have infested the whole team. A young bowler with potential but he has a lot to learn. we will wait and see.

Jofra Archer is the most overrated bowler in England

The Australian Bowler Under-arming the ball along the ground to deny I think New Zealand any chance of winning, that has got to be a game changer, it changed the rules so has to be a contender.

The balls that changed it all

A sense of humor helps. W G. Grace, who thought he was the only member of a team worth watching, literately scared the pants off Umpires until——He looked down after receiving a ball and saw a bail resting on the ground at his feet. he picked it up and replaced it on the stumps.
“Windy today isn’t Parks”
“It certainly is Dr. Watch it doesn’t blow you’re hat off on your way back to the Pavilion”
An oldy but a goody.

What makes a great cricket umpire?
