With regards to empty seats, I’d assume they sell day tickets and some folk aren’t keen to watch every game.
Now poor old Bunnies #1 needs a cuddle.
Cowbies need a bit of ticker, no heart and who’s paying Val…..

Cowboys snap losing streak against sorry Souths - but don't be fooled, this was still poor from Payten's men

Yeah I’ll believe this one when I hear it from the man himself, the NRL craziness machine is going nuts lately what with the Chooks seeming headless, and the latest expansion getting louder. Time for a Bex and a lay down methinks, probably that’s what uncle Wayne will be doing too.

'Presence and aura': Bennett backed to make history after agreeing $3m multi-year deal to return to Souths

Well said Gibbo and thanks for saying so succinctly what I also believe. I’m not sure of a solution but they need to find one pretty damn quick or this season will be cactus before you know it.

A Letter to Todd Payten: If you want to avoid the fans' call for you to get sacked, please do these simple things

Fifita, the signing of the decade. That will do me.

Fifita signing coup an extra feather in the cap as Roosters reopen premiership window

Firstly Maguire needs to decide whether Tedesco is up to another series as the best player in his position. As incumbent captain he also deserves the courtesy to be quietly asked to step aside from the team if it means a better player is available in his position.

Personally I believe we’re at that stage and Teddy should announce his rep’ retirement to focus on the Roosters, allowing Edwards to have a proper crack at his only position.

Centre nervous system: Specialists better suited to crucial spot with Turbo out - but could Tedesco make Blues switch?

Sprinkle that magic dust eh Cookie, that’ll do me.

NRL News: Latrell returns a changed man - Hornby, 'Our game is finished' fumes Fatty at Bunker after 'awful' penalty

Well thanks Mr Reader that just shot down my speculation that uncle Wayne would slip into a general manager of football type role.

NRL News: Luai wants Origin redemption, World Cup heading back Down Under, Dolphins deny stuffing up Bennett deal

I imagine Singapore being an international air hub would be at least one reason, or they could have chosen the Emirates instead I suppose. Easy enough for everyone to get to.

NRL News: Luai wants Origin redemption, World Cup heading back Down Under, Dolphins deny stuffing up Bennett deal

Thanks for that Mike, the Cowbies issues are myriad and have been at least since Toddy came to town. We need another JT. Simple.

Is it okay if I suggest you get an editor or at least a proof reader for your missives, please.

Wayne's not done yet: Kodi steals show as Phins avenge Cowboys thrashing with stunning Townsville boilover

Here’s hoping Pappies injury is only slight. Hope the lad is busy studying in his downtime, god knows he’d be close to a degree by now. He must be close to saying eff it footy aint for me.

Papenhuyzen confirms bad news but vows to return as Storm survive Titans rally after baffling Bunker call

Who wrote this rubbish.
This is the best time for NSW to go boldly in a new direction. Unfortunately they can’t because there’re too many factions that ‘want a bit’. To me the team is super easy to pick, and I’d have to hand in my QLD residency papers if I shared it.

Blues Origin predicted team: Cleary's massive injury blow confirmed to hand Maguire yet another headache

Andrew, yep I thought the same, why not call Allan Jones for his advice too.

NRL News: Cheika hires agent to sound out Souths, Gus cops huge fine after 'our game is stupid' rant

I’m fascinated by speculation of Bennetts future, the bloke is more cunning than a sh!thouse rat, I mean that in a nice way. At his core is a very competitive sportsman with a very long and distinguished career in rugby league, who at 74 is most definitely in the last few years of his working life.

When he took the reins at the Phins as inaugural head Coach he did it, in my opinion, with a long term view in mind knowing he wasn’t going to coach beyond 2 years to get Wolfe settled, get the systems established and have the club all working together to becoming a genuine premiership side. They still have a ways to go yet, and his work is not finished.

People say he’s driven by a hunger for another title win, if that was true and I don’t doubt it, why go anywhere other than to continue the building at Redcliffe where at least they don’t have dead-wood to shed and they’re in the ascendancy. The Sydney clubs being bandied about all have serious flaws and as a shrewd operator uncle Wayne would know his best chance for another elusive premiership is exactly where he is now, he doesn’t need the Head Coach title to validate his achievement. He’s already partway to the goal, his ducks are nicely lined up let the next gen do the daily grind and sit in the corner office while calling the shots. Beautiful.

The question Bennett needs to address before deciding if he wants to return to Rabbitohs

I haven’t heard anything from uncle Wayne to suggest he wants a return to Sydney, in fact common sense would be that in his future working life he’d stay at the Dolphins as a semi retired general manager of football operations and a very handy sounding board for Kristian Wolf. Maybe the lack of success after Bennett leaves clubs is down to a new coach not having enough support and political savvy to get what is needed to make a successful team more successful.

Bumbling Bunnies board, players, executives and Demetriou all deserve share of blame game after coach's demise

I’m pleased for Keary getting out at close to his own terms. Arguably he went too many head knocks too long, but that’s his choice and who knows which knock did the damage, if there is going to be any, such a lottery. If he’s only a few steps away from a business degree and the ability to speak well I imagine he is well set for a fulfilling life after footy. More power to him

Roosters' 2025 troubles mount as premiership-winner Keary announces shock retirement

When Lane came off at 1/2 time he told Danika Mason that it was more of a shoulder issue, and not actually a head issue. But I digress. There was no intent to attack the head, wrestle or crusher him. He just got a bit of momentum and gravity took over. Anyway doesn’t matter now, Cherry got 2 weeks, I disagree with it.

NRL Round 8 judiciary: Massive Manly blow as Haumole and DCE banned, Sivo charged for 'stupid' hit

Yeah souvalis, but that didn’t actually happen did it? It was bodies in motion at high speed without intent to cause harm. Not one body slam was hurt in the production of that tackle.

NRL Round 8 judiciary: Massive Manly blow as Haumole and DCE banned, Sivo charged for 'stupid' hit

Sounds like the Cowbies had a crack, look forward to the replay

Nathan's kicks the difference in Panthers rearguard action as Ivan reveals reason for Turuva absence

Very harsh for DCE to be given 2 weeks for his involvement in that tackle. I thought the sin bin and probably fines for them both would have been more appropriate. But good luck waiting for any fairness from the judiciary.

NRL Round 8 judiciary: Massive Manly blow as Haumole and DCE banned, Sivo charged for 'stupid' hit

Without forensically analysing every foul for the last few years and the penalties that have been imposed, is it just me or do the Roosters seem to get beaten by a feather duster when they are naughty, while everyone else seem to get flogged by the cat of nine tails. ????

NRL Round 7 judiciary: Knight gets ban for tunnel brawl, Tigers star facing ban, Roosters duo charged

The play that prompted Munster to foul Teddy and earning a sin binning, was let go, Hughes was held up and tackled by 2 players without the ball. Nothing to see, I hear.

'Both were really clear': Roosters in a rage over ref's contentious calls as Storm win on the back of two dubious tries

Maybe each clubs media manager just hands the coach a prepared statement to read out for the presser and then that’s it. Can’t go wrong then.

Give coaches a choice: NRL post-match press conferences are mandatory, but only to say what the bosses want you to say

It might be a bit early for Paps as fullback, I’d be happy for Turbo to take over, if Teddy does excuse himself from rep duties which seems likely give the number of recorded head knocks he’s had. I’d also be happy to see Hynes at 5/8 with Cleary as captain. Depends on what the faceless unknown NSW selectors decide in their wisdom, god knows they did Fittler no favours.

NRL News: Maguire happy with Papi's claims for Origin berth, Souths set to name new defence coach

Interesting result

'Embarrassing': Joey fumes over Knights keeping injured Ponga on the park as Roosters rally to win nail-biter

A lot of what Johns said is right, the thing is that KP was inspiring even when hobbling in back play, but he dug deep into his well of strength and showed his team that if you believe you can do anything. The chooks were about to pick up another gear and extend their lead then Newcastle bullied them. Amazing game, Roosters won but Knights got the victory. Hope they learn from this that backing up is a good skill to have too.
