Sorry Sir, wont push this along – i have stretched a lot anyways.
I accept if you say so.

One might argue that sample size is very small and surprise surprise – its the first Test on the ground, one more thing which we hadn’t discussed is that usually in Ranji there is no home team playing which in case of the test is a huge factor for curator. Also, I think Anurag Thakur might also have a say and may influence the pitch – speculation here.

I will go with the expert and accept “Dharamsala’s pacy pitch set to favour Aussies”

Why don’t we meet, i might gain a lot of insights from you and improve my maths, was enlightened that 89/99 is not a ratio. may be i can make this a topic for PhD.

Here is an excerpt from math.com (http://www.math.com/school/subject1/lessons/S1U2L1DP.html)- you can google for other examples –

“The most common way to write a ratio is as a fraction, 3/6. We could also write it using the word “to,” as “3 to 6.” Finally, we could write this ratio using a colon between the two numbers, 3:6. Be sure you understand that these are all ways to write the same number.”

I clearly see that you will go beyond any reasonable means to prove me wrong and so its not worth an argument.

Can I get real viral copyright please

Dharamsala's pacy pitch set to favour Aussies

Again a difference in thought processes
Shaving the grass may not necessarily deaden the surface was my point and you are now mentioning “deaden the amount of lateral movement” I feel this is a more enhanced phrase and is completely different from ” deaden the surface”

In some instances especially in north India it is important to shave te grass to reduce the binding of the soil otherwise there would be 600 runs in the 2nd innings and we would need more than 5 days. Again it’s not an expert analysis and don’t counter me on this. It’s just that I don’t see shaving the grass deadens the surface

Dharamsala's pacy pitch set to favour Aussies

Well I would look up the law tomorrow as I am not sure that you can disown what’s Written against your name.

Dharamsala's pacy pitch set to favour Aussies

89/99 is a ratio, and the ratio can remain similar even if there is not a washout.
Thanks for the logic

Dharamsala's pacy pitch set to favour Aussies

he hasn’t really contradicted my theory or has he??
And he hasn’t really supported yours – pacy wicket will favour Aussies

Dharamsala's pacy pitch set to favour Aussies

Hey internal fixation
I usually pick up my son early afternoon and don’t necessarily follow this site until he sleeps hence my absence… this pattern is usually consistent.

The real viral hasn’t disappeared and is still creating a storm everywhere, isn’t he

Dharamsala's pacy pitch set to favour Aussies

I will not say the curator is lying but will say that you are a genius to get the same analysis out of the 4 scorecards by the way he never meant that it will be pacy and favour the Australians
In my honest opinion, you being an expert can judge the pitch on solely scorecard baffles me, I think we are jumping the gun here and coming to the conclusion.

Dharamsala's pacy pitch set to favour Aussies

Okay
So what’s your point here ??
The nature of the pitch won’t be altered, so does that means it will have movement for quick bowlers and favour Aussies and would remain 89/99

Dharamsala's pacy pitch set to favour Aussies

Ouch ouch
A stat comes from scorecard buddy, yes I rest my case with you. Think twice of your ability to put 2 and 2 together.

Dharamsala's pacy pitch set to favour Aussies

Seems I have made enemies of quite a few people with titles, just find it extraordinary that you guys can have someone else put in a headline without your blanket consent, maybe legal team can exploit this loophole to sue editors

I wasn’t able to digest the headline hence the aggressiveness

Dharamsala's pacy pitch set to favour Aussies

Ouch Ouch

“Glenn did put more evidence other than scorecards such as;

Of most interest to Steve Smith, however, will be the style of bowler who claimed the wickets: of the 99 wickets to fall to bowlers, 89 were claimed by pace.”
Where is the evidence outside the scorecard – 89/99 comes from scorecard, isnt it?

Comprehension ?? You here to pick fights mate?

Dharamsala's pacy pitch set to favour Aussies

Thanks Rock for explaining that.

There are wickets which have enough bounce despite there being no grass a day prior to start – that doesn’t deaden the wicket.

Grass is important in binding the wicket sometimes but it all depends on the type of soil and the amount of rolling and varies a lot country to country – even IND and SL will be different – even Western IND and Eastern IND will be different.

Dharamsala's pacy pitch set to favour Aussies

Good point Alex.

Unfortunately the EXPERT in Glenn Mitchell pays no heed to the climate – he only goes by scorecard.

Dharamsala's pacy pitch set to favour Aussies

I retract my apology – you are well aware of the line (your consent would be there) and just choose to disregard it on your free will.
I really dont know if your other words hold any value now.

Dharamsala's pacy pitch set to favour Aussies

Can you please explain what do you mean by referring to deaden the pitch and how will India do that?

I just hope EXPERT against your name stands for something.

Dharamsala's pacy pitch set to favour Aussies

Well, I agree that pitch is a very important part of the game and should be discussed and analyzed. I have no problem with that.

Paying heed to pitch selection process and now just past scorecards (with no other considerations) isnt proper analysis but noise (or gossip).

I would have appreciated more evidence before putting – “Dharamsala’s pacy pitch set to favour Aussies”

Dharamsala's pacy pitch set to favour Aussies

Yeah Glenn, you are right, previously the “guesswork”/”prediction”/”analysis” was based on the pic of the pitch.
This time you didnt even required that, its just based on historical performances. I fear there are quite a lot more factors.

Dharamsala's pacy pitch set to favour Aussies

Apologies if it wasnt yours

Still says – Dharamsala’s pacy pitch set to favour Aussies -against your name

Dharamsala's pacy pitch set to favour Aussies

The fascination on pitch has started again – the pitch is supposed to be Aussie friendly and will be deaden by the groundsman.. reminds me of plenty of lip service previously by roar’s socalled experts – the Ranchi Pitch looks to be the worst, test wont last 2 days.. blah blah blah… All sensational journalism…

Few things to note – Altitude – will make the ball swing naturally, outfield – may not accelerate roughness on the ball so no reverse in say 20th over and climate – being far cooler than Sydney has been for the last few days should really assist swing on the first morning.

The only thing that groundsman can do is prepare a surface with few cracks (which are immaterial since Indian cracks are not plates that we find here) and with no grass (Sorry – but Aussies are predominantly meat eating and curator should save the grass for the cows). Dont know how on earth can someone find ways to deaden the surface in such conditions.

Considering the pitch is green and assist quicks, it will be different from the ones we get in AUS and Indian quicks with Shami drafted IN will be far more potent – so dont really see any favourable conditions for AUS as stated in the catchy title of the article.

For me, everyone should concentrate on selection and tactics – I feel the team selection was too defensive by either sides in Ranchi and was the best chance for Kuldip Yadav to run through aussie line up.

Dharamsala's pacy pitch set to favour Aussies

Agree that India will be desperate to get the result (favorable, I must say) in 4th Test.

But not sure where you are coming from – the Ranchi groundsman didnt create this sort of wicket looking for a draw, he was looking for a result and was very close to getting it. As we saw it had something for everyone and a good wrist spinner was missing from both the attacks.

Although I am looking forward to the pitch in Dharamshala – but am always mindful of the hype/apprehension/tension created just on the pitch. For me the result is dependent on lot of factors, pitch being one small factor.

First it was Dust bowls then mud bowls and now you are looking for sporting wickets.
To be fair all three wickets were sporting and made for very interesting matches which has opened up the series.
