Given that the lineup has to be announced before the toss, how is a team supposed to dump all their bowlers and parachute in 4-5 batsmen? Maybe Australia were in fact headed on the right track by trying to cram the side with “all-rounders”

Pulling the goalie: why Australia should play eleven batsmen in every Test

Lol, do I sense a Cheteshwar Jadeja context here?

Cricket commentators' dream India XI

I agree with you that the rot starts at the top, and that Sutherland is primarily responsible. Scratching a bloody ball is the least of the problems, it is the feral behavioural stuff that has been going on for a while that has lead to this state. And the captain, squad and coach don’t dictate it. Top management does

However, please don’t dismiss the players as innocent goats, or people needing support. They are grown adults who can tell good and bad. Any team member who has actively decided to cheat or behave like a doofus is complicit

As a foreigner who has lived in Aus in the past, all I can say is the team’s behaviour over the last 25 years min is nothing like the warm and friendly people of Australia that I have known. It is funny that cricketers like Steve Waugh and Ponting, who are magnificent players but who didn’t know how to respect an opponent, wrote the code of conduct, and are now coming out to defend it. They have all my respect with bat in hand, but are no angels

Frankly I don’t understand the disconnect the Australian public and its cricketers. Better ambassadors have to be chosen. It is this long held attitude of recklessness that has tipped the team over the edge finally

I ramble in sadness and perplexity, not in gloating. We Indians have also had our villains in the past

No public shaming for our team of scapegoats

India shot to the no 1 spot from lower than 5 in just the space of 3 games against Australia. T20 rankings don’t mean anything.

Favourites? There are no favourites in Twenty20

The bit about India being the best players of spin around is just a myth. It was just one glorious generation in the 90s and 2000s that created the impression, with their seniors being reasonably proficient. The current generation just can’t cut it, and have made pedestrians like Moeen and Santner look like the second coming of Warne.

Favourites? There are no favourites in Twenty20

India can’t win key series away from home? Heck, India can barely win a test away from home. Not counting last year’s series win against Sri Lanka, the only significant overseas test victory we had was in Lord’s a couple of years ago. That too came about thanks to one session of English brain implosion on the last day.

Australia's rise to the top: I smell another one-hit wonder

What about Damien Martyn? He was unfairly made to sit out many years thanks to one reckless shot. A scapegoat if there ever was one.

Australia's unlucky XI

As someone else said, 22 yards are 22 yards for both the bowler and the batsman.

Agreed on the lbw rule as well, it has always struck me as absurd.

The Mankading issue has arisen again. It is time to bury it

It won’t take us a long time at all if the non-striker did the sensible thing every delivery. Which is, stay in the crease.

If Mankading is legal, why isn't it ethical?

That’s the most convincing argument I’ve heard for Mankading yet. Nicely done, Bush.

Thank you admin, for publishing my first article. I also appreciate the cleanup job done. Shall endeavour to keep future articles as easily readable as possible.
