Congratulations to Australia and all but I have to say Denmark were very poor, for the entire group stage but also this game. They lacked creativity for the entire match and even when they were a goal down needing two to progress, they never seemed like they wanted to win. Part of this comes down to excellent defending by the Aussies, but I am just surprised at the way they played.

Port’s finals campaign seems much brighter now that the top 8 has been confirmed. They are in good form and have beaten half of the current 8. If they can beat Geelong first round they are probably favourites.

I agree with your top 4 predictions but what about the hammers? Surely they will finish at least top 8, miles ahead of Everton, Villa, Arsenal and Leeds and if Spurs lose Kane they are screwed. If they can keep hold of their players I back them to finish between 5th and 8th.

Should the A-League keep the finals?
Yeah agreed with finals, you can’t have promotion and relegation. However, if we did introduce two divisions, there would be no interest at the top of the first one because it would need to be a league system which no one wants. Additionally, there is not tournament for the top teams to qualify for. In competitions like the Premier League, it is a League system but there is also additional competitions to qualify for at the top; champions league. This means that the top levels are still interesting for most of the season.

I think Arnold is going to “request” and “call for” a lot over the next few weeks following a successful campaign.
