The Hurricanes and the Chiefs meet in the final match of round seven on Sunday at Sky Stadium, Wellington as both sides look to get their seasons back on track with an important victory. Join The Roar for live scores from 12:35pm AEDT.

The Chiefs will have been frustrated at their loss last week to the Crusaders and will want to bounce back with a victory over the Canes today. Unfortunately they will have to try and do it without key lock Brodie Retallick who is out for six to eight weeks with a broken thumb.

But the team has welcomed back some All Blacks talent with Josh Ioane and Anton Lienert-Brown which should see the Chiefs back line become even more imposing.

If the Chiefs are frustrated after their last performance, the Canes will be absolutely devastated. Losing to the Moana Pasifika is not something they would have expected and it has increased the intensity on the Canes club as many start to wonder if they’ve lost a lot of their aura from a few yeas ago.

Much was expected from the returning TJ Perenara but in the end he was out of form all game long and the Canes will need a much better performance from him today.

Interestingly Jordie Barrett has been moved to inside centre and that has drawn much criticism ahead of the game as pundits and fans wonder why he would be used in a crash ball position when he is far stronger at full back thanks to his catching, kicking and running in broken play.

The Canes will also welcome back skipper Ardie Savea at number eight and Du’Plessis Kirifi on the open side.
