Super Rugby Pacific’s Melbourne Super Round continues as the Highlanders go up against one of Australia’s best in the ACT Brumbies at AAMI Park, Melbourne. Join The Roar for live scores from 2:00pm AEST.

The Australian sides are still searching for their first win of their weekend and this is probably their best opportunity.

The Brumbies should feel confident coming into the match with plenty of first choice talent in the startling line up. Crucially their back row includes both Rob Valetini and Pete Samu who will play a crucial role in getting their side over the advantage line.

With first choice halves Nic White and Noah Lolesio back together again as well, the Canberra side will know this is a great chance to state their claim to being both the best side in Australia and a genuine contender for the Super Rugby Pacific title.

Meanwhile the Highlanders are forced yet again to make a number of changes to their line up as they travel to Melbourne. Head coach Tony Brown has made seven changes in total to his starting line up with big names missing such as Aaron Smith and Shannon Frizell.

In the backs only Marty Banks retains his jersey with Folau Fakatava taking the scrum half spot from Smith. Up front there’s plenty of changes too with Sam Caird coming in to replace suspended Josh Dickson. Caird played 10 matches for the Tahs last season and has had to battle through a number of COVID related challenges to get into the starting line up for the Highlanders but going head to head with the Brumbies powerful back is going to be his toughest yet.

With just one win under their belt this season and that coming against new boys Moana Pasifika, confidence is not exactly high at the Highlanders and a win today would be a really big positive step forward for the side.
