After an inconsistent run as of late, German powerhouse Bayern Munich found their old form with a 5-nil win over Werder Bremen in their last fixture.
Thiago Alcantara and Thomas Muller both scored twice, with Robert Lewandowski also adding to his goal tally.
Munich will have history on their side, having remained unbeaten against Juventus in their past five encounters. Their last Champions League knockout encounter ended 4-nil in favour of the German side.
Having averaged more possession (71 per cent) than any other side this season, and with the away goal advantage on their side, Bayern will be more than confident they can progress to the next round.
Having won four games in a row, and not conceded in any of those, Juventus are on form all over the pitch.
The Italian giants are coming off a 1-nil win over Sassuolo, which saw Paulo Dybala score the winner in the 36th minute.
Despite not being able to get a win over Bayern in five games, Juventus know that they can score against them.
The last time these two played was at the end of February in the first leg. Muller and Arjen Robben put Bayern ahead by two, however Dybala and Stefano Sturaro both found the net as Juventus managed to fight back to secure the 2-all draw in front of their fans.
Both sides are in form, and this should be a battle of Bayern Munich’s attack versus Juventus’ defence. However, Bayern’s tendency to dominate possession may overwhelm the Italian side and guide them to victory.
Prediction
Bayern Munich 2 – 0 Juventus
