Looking for her first tour title at home, Australia’s Ashleigh Barty will face Dayana Yastremska in the Adelaide International women’s final on Saturday afternoon. Join The Roar for coverage of the decider including live scores and a blog from 5pm (AEDT).

Barty fought back from a set down to beat American Danielle Collins 3-6, 6-1, 7-6(5) on Friday evening.

The World No. 1 has not had an easy start to the season, challenged first at the Brisbane International (out in round of 16) and now at the Adelaide International.

Struggling on serve early in the opening set against Collins, Barty took time to settle into the match. After a near break to start the second set, the 23-year-old worked her way ahead and sent it to a third set, where she won in a tie-breaker.

Earlier in the day, Yastremska defeated Aryna Sabalenka to move through to the biggest final of her career.

The World No. 24 dispatched the seeded Belarusian 6-4,7-6(4) in an impressive semi-final performance, where she won 79 per cent of her first serve points.

Yastremska has won three WTA title before, though not at Premier level; the 19-year-old is feeling confident with her big victories this week and will take everything in her stride on Saturday.

The pair have met on tour once before at the Miami Masters in 2019. Barty won 6-4,6-1 in the round of 64, and went on to claim the Miami title.

Prediction
Dayana Yastremska is yet to drop a set in this tournament, though the right-hander will have a bigger challenge awaiting her in the final.

Tested by her skilful opponents this week, Barty must be feeling the pressure of her first Australian summer as the top female tennis player in the world.

With the help of the crowd though, the Aussie will claim her first Australian WTA singles title.

Barty to win in three sets.
