The Myer Classic is the second last race of the day on the Flemington card and the weight-for-age conditions usually attracts big fields and favours the class mares. Join us here on The Roar for the race preview at 4:15pm AEDT.
Huge field of quality today and I’m finding them quite hard to split. Sweet Idea is very well rated (led in 50.2 first 800m) and too strong last time. Just missed in Group 1 Coolmore at 1500m. First try at the 1600m here which could be the undoing of her.
Neena Rock her first two runs this preparation were outstanding then out to mile and great chase/win last time. Is up to these and could run a really good race at some delicious odds.
May’s Dream looks a big chance here. Ran home hard (11.38 last 200m was day’s fastest) off slow speed latest. Has been crying out for the 1600m so I believe she should go well.
Girl in Flight is another of my value selections. Found line nicely off slow speed last time. She wants to make the step out to the 1600m badly now and looks a really good chance at odds.
Catkins is another I’m not convinced she’s going as well as last year but you can’t doubt the quality here. Dominant first up. Could not hold off Arabian Gold second up. Honest last time and led until the line in this last year.
Of the others Politeness has excellent splits and Solicit, Girl Guide and Star Fashion could all feature at big odds.
Brent Ford’s Tips:
1. May’s Dream 2. Neena Rock 3. Sweet Idea 4. Catkins
