So it is almost that time of year again – to announce the best of the best in greyhound racing in Australia.
It has been another outstanding year of racing, with some really exciting and nail-biting races. There were a few dogs that caught my eye throughout the year.
Space Star (Bekim Bale x Tonto Tears) Born June 2012. Owner: Camilla Limon. Trainer: Robert Britton.
He took out the Sky Racing Galaxy 715m at Cannington which payed him an $80,000 prize, The Zoom Top 725m at The Meadows with a $75,000 prize and the AAA Radiator Special Association Cup at Wentworth Park with another $75,000 prize.
My Bro Fabio (Turanza Bale x Flamenco) Born March 2012. Trainer: Michelle Jones. Trainer: Brooke Ennis.
He won a hefty $140,000 in the Sky Racing Perth Cup 530m at Cannington and another $100,000 in the Temlee 525m at The Meadows
Fernando Bale (Kelsos Fusileer x Chloe Allen) Born: March 2013. Owner: Paul Wheeler. Trainer: Andrea Dailly.
He had a win in the 2015 National Derby 520m at Wentworth Park which payed him $75,000 for his efforts he also won a handsome $250,000 in the The Golden Easter Egg 520m at Wentworth Park.
There are so many good greyhounds out there this year the competition is fierce.
