Race 1: Ottawa Stakes (1000 metres, 10:40am)
Result:
1. Invincible Star
2. Lucky Louie
3. Maadenity

4. Artic Angel

Preview:
The big day gets underway with a shorter 1000 metre race, the Ottawa Stakes – one that will see a field of two-year-olds, many without race experience take on Flemington.

There have been four scratchings (Time Awaits, Tarima, Wired and Woman In Red) since the field was announced, leaving 16 horses in the race with Madeenaty the runaway favourite.

Madeenaty has been as low as $1.60 for the victory and has barely fluctuated from opening price after making an impressive debut on Turnbull Stakes day at Flemington.

Lucky Louie, from Sydney, is the next best paying $10.

Prediction
1. Madeenaty
2. Lucky Louie
3. Invincible Star

4. Straviera

Race 2: Tab.com.au Trophy (1700 metres, 11:20am)
Result:
1. Sort After
2. Metaphorical
3. Amarela

4. Jessy Belle

Preview:
The second race of the day should be a much closer run affair, with the distance extended to 1700 metres and a number of mares who haven’t had great results on their recent resumes going up against each other.

It must be mentioned many of the horses have been racing in higher grade races although Model Dragon, who is currently unbeaten will come in as favourite.

Unlike Race 1 though, there is virtually nothing splitting the opinions of punters between Model Dragon and Sort After.

Model Dragon held off a strong field at Cranbourne in her last race, despite carrying 59 kilograms while Sort After’s beat Euro Angel a few weeks ago and is one of the more consistent horses in the field.

Egypt and Every Faith, who have barely fluctuated in the betting are also expected to be strong chances, while Jesse Belle who has run plenty of good races recently has moved in to $9.

Prediction
1. Model Dragon
2. Sort After
3. Every Faith

4. Jesse Belle

Race 3: Prince of Penzance plate (2800 metres, 12pm)
Result:
1. Kinema
2. Firenze
3. Four Carat

4. Swacadelic

Preview:
Named after the winner of the 2015 Melbourne Cup and run over a distance of 2800 metres. Master trainer Chris Waller has three serious chances in this race which will be left with 16 runners after some scratchings.

Murphy’s delight, who has displayed some strong form is the favourite from the Waller stable while Kinema, who ran right behind Oceanographer in the Geelong Cup has come in despite being the heaviest horse.

Morning Mix, trained by Robert Hickmott will be the favourite for the race though after getting some weight relief.

Prediction
1. Morning Mix
2. Murphy’s Delight
3. Kinema

4. Super Haze

Race 4: Lavazza Prontissimo (1400 metres, 12:40pm)
Result:
1. Demonstrate
2. Soveriegn Nation
3. Give Us A Go

4. Magic Boy

Preview:
The fourth race of the day, run over 1400 metres may also be the easiest of the day to tip, especially after Lucky Liberty was scratched during the week.

Demonstrate has turned out to be a good sprinter and is displaying some good form, coming in as the $1.50 favourite. Hard to see it being beaten.

Prediction
1. Demonstrate
2. Sovereign Nations
3. Sebring Sun

4. Castelo

Race 5: Schweppes #FlemingtonFling (1000 metres, 1:20pm)
Result:
1. Speedeor
2. Biased Witness
3. Hellbound

4. Manuel

Preview:
This, another race for three year olds over 1000 metres is a difficult race to tip because the horses have come from everywhere making form hard to line up.

With a field of 16 horses, Biased Witness comes in as the narrow favourite and has been displaying some strong form. Despite that, the odds have actually gone out with punters not liking the chances.

Speedeor, trained by Darren Weir is paying $4.80 for the win Amanaat has been a big mover in the market.

Prediction
1. Speedeor
2. Biased Witness
3. Amanaat
4. Ashlor

Race 6: Lexus Hybrid plate (1400 metres, 2pm)
Result:
1. Jennifer Lynn
2. Prompt Response
3. Invincibella

4. Brulee

Preview:
Up to half the field in this 1400 metre race could be considered genuine winning chances. With 16 runners, there is nothing to split the favourites Sylpheed and Sweet Sherry.

Sherry has been sprinting brilliantly and covered the final 200 metres of her last run in incredibly quick time while Sylpheed has been running strongly.

Jeanneau has been a strong mover in the markets, while Faraway Town has also been in good form.

Prediction
1. Sweet Sherry
2. Sylpheed

Race 7: Emirates Melbourne Cup

(3200 metres, 3pm)
Result:
1. Almandin
2. Heartbreak City
3. Hartnell

4. Qewy

Preview:
The race that stops a nation. The biggest of them all, run over 3200 metres.

In terms of local talent, Jameeka is the one to watch and after a stunning run at the Caufield Cup she has shot in as one of the favourites for a race.

After winning the Hill and Turnbull Stakes, Hartnell will be another to watch while racing giant Godolphin are also after their first success in the Cup, with Oceanographer the best of their chances.

Results:
1. Fabrizio
2. Tucanchoo
3. Desert Jeuney

4. Tashbeesh

Preview:

Fabrizio might be coming into Race 8 as the favourite, but Jacquinot Bay brings some strong Melbourne Group 1 racing form into the meet.

Plot the Course unluckily drew barrier one and that will effect it’s chances while Lidari has been a proven Group 1 performer.

Prediction
1. Jacquinot Bay
2. Fabrizio
3. Lidari

4. Plot the Course

Race 9: MSS Security Sprint (1200 metres, 4:35pm)
18 runners in this race, and it will be an all out sprint over 1200 metres up the straight. Sir Bacchus comes in as the favourite, and after opening at $7 has been in good form, training well and looks to be the safest bet.

Faatinah, who opened as favourite has gone out to $8 with the top weight, while Burning Front has come in strongly but has displayed little form to suggest a victory.

Secret Agenda, Ravi and Lord Von Costa shape as the others to watch.

Prediction
1. Sir Bacchus
2. Faatinah
3. Lord Von Costa

4. Ravi

Race 10: The Hong Kong Jockey Club Stakes (1400 metres, 5:15pm)
The final race of the day will be a 1400 metre one for mares.

Silent Sedition, who is the favourite has had six runs throughout the year, picking up three victories and the odds for the Mare have only come in since betting opened.
