The Western Force have been ridiculed since joining the expansion Super 14. Injuries and poor play, mixed in with questionable coaching decisions, have marred the team since joining the competition. However, the future is looking bright for the Force with young flyhalf, Kyle Godwin.

Godwin, a youngster from South Africa, moved to Perth when he was eight years old and took up rugby after his father, Royal Godwin, played county rugby in South Africa.

Godwin is currently training four times a week as the only fly-half at the Force academy and soon hopes to break his way into the force line-up.

But he is realistic about his chances of playing for Australia, saying “Quade Cooper is a superstar. He is the man.”

Godwin does, however, have the option of playing for South Africa, but would much rather represent Australia, as he has at junior level.

The Force are undergoing a change this off-season, so brace yourselves for the coming of Kyle Godwin: good things are around the corner for this franchise and this young man.
