Maclaren misses out on All Stars squad, Nestory named for farewell game
Jamie Maclaren may have played his last game in Australia after the outgoing Melbourne City captain was not included in the A-League Men All…
Winless Melbourne Heart could again be without captain Harry Kewell when they face Brisbane at Suncorp Stadium on Sunday.
And they expect to lose defender Patrick Kisnorbo for as many as three A-League games.
Kewell hasn’t played since sustaining a whiplash injury in the opening round.
He’ll return to training this week, but the Heart said on Tuesday he remains in doubt to face the Roar.
Kisnorbo injured his right knee unsuccessfully trying to stop Perth’s Jamie Maclaren scoring what proved the winning goal in Perth on Sunday.
The Heart said on Tuesday they had confirmed during arthroscopic surgery that the defender has not sustained any structural damage.
But he will still need up to three weeks on the sidelines.
That means Kisnorbo is likely to miss games against Western Sydney and Sydney FC, as well as the Roar.
The Heart are sitting in eighth spot, on just two points, having drawn their first two games before losing to the Glory.
