Perth Spirit will be looking for their second win of the 2015 NRC season when they host Melbourne Rising. Join The Roar from 5:30pm AEST for live scores of this rematch from last year’s semi-finals.
Despite making it all the way to the grand finals last year, Perth Spirit have had a disappointing start to the season.
However, the Spirit finally managed to win their last game, and now they are looking to make it two in a row.
The Spirit found their old form as they dismantled Queensland Country by 30 points in a game that they never let get too far out of their control.
Ian Prior proved to be solid for the Spirit, scoring a try and converting eight from eight.
Melbourne Rising are coming off an extremely entertaining one point win over the Greater Sydney Rams last week.
A last minute try by Tom English followed by a successful kick from Jack Debreczeni secured the dramatic finish.
Rising can consider themselves lucky to get the win, as the Rams’ disappointing kicking game made all the difference.
The last time these two sides faced off was in last year’s semi-finals. Despite losing their first encounter during the season, the Perth Spirit recuperated and came away with an impressive 16-point victory.
Prediction: Rising by 3
Will the Perth Spirit make it two in a row, or can the Melbourne Rising get revenge for last year’s semi-final loss?
