Round 10 of the 2015-16 W-League saw some ruthless aggression. So who made a move up the power rankings.

1. Melbourne City (no change)
An early goal to Kim Little was the difference between City and the Newcastle Jets, handing Melbourne City their maiden Premiership in the W-League competition.

City are the first team to achieve claiming the Premiership with three rounds remaining.

They host Western Sydney Wanderers next week, with goal of keeping their unblemished campaign alive.

2. Canberra United (no change)
Bye this week and Perth Glory away next week. The big question is whether captain Nicole Begg will join the squad, or stay in Canberra on the physio bench after missing last match with a back complaint. Given the game is in Perth, the girls in green might not risk their captain.

3. Sydney FC (+3)
Beat Melbourne Victory, and reclaimed position three in the power rankings with a 2-1 win. Goals to Leena Khamis and Jasmyne Spencer in the first half were enough to seal the three points for the sky blue girls.

Have the bye this week, which could see their place in the top four under threat.

4. Adelaide United (no change)
A home Christmas for the Reds, having the bye this weekend. They are hosting Brisbane Roar this Sunday at home

5. Brisbane Roar (-2)
No shame going down 0-1 to Melbourne City, but the loss means they are three points adrift outside the top four. They can take strides to making the finals by beating Adelaide United away this week.

6. Newcastle Jets (+2)
A Tara Edwards goal in the first half enough to get the win for the Jets. They stay in the hunt with Adelaide and Sydney for the 2015/16 finals.

The Jets host Melbourne Victory in the televised match this Sunday.

7. Western Sydney Wanderers (-2)
A 0-1 loss to the Jets has the been seen as a missed opportunity this late in the season. They could have had fifth on the ladder but instead have sixth in a similar place to the Roar.

They head to Melbourne this week to take on City.

8. Perth Glory (-1)
A traditional Aussie Christmas for Perth at home with the bye, and will host the inform Canberra United next week.

9. Melbourne Victory (no change)
Put in a solid effort against Sydney FC, but left the match without anything to show for it, going down 1-2. They head to Newcastle to take on the Jets this Sunday.
