Charged with three counts of domestic violence, Parramatta Eels winger Semi Radradra today pleaded not guilty to all counts at Parramatta Local Court.

A club-appointed lawyer entered Radradra’s plea on his behalf, as the Fijian maintained his silence throughout.

Radradra stands accused of domestic violence-related assault causing actual bodily harm, and two counts of domestic violence-related common assault, against his former partner Perina Ting between October 2014 and May 2015.

Ms Ting last week applied for an apprehended violence order against Radradra, while the NRL player was visiting family in Fiji. He returned to Australia last Thursday evening only to be taken away by police and charged.

It capped a bizarre fortnight, during which rumours abounded that Radradra would not return to rugby league or Australia at all, with reports of a contract with French rugby club Bordeaux on the table.

Following the series of tumultuous events, Eels coach Brad Arthur offered Radradra the chance to stand down for Saturday night’s game against the Sharks, which the 24-year-old declined.

His next court date is set for August, although as long as he is represented by a lawyer, he will not be required to attend the hearing.

The Eels’ next game is on Friday night against the Roosters, with Radradra expected to be named in the side when it’s announced this afternoon.
