Queensland racing this Wednesday heads to the Gold Coast while in South Australia, Gawler will host a nine-race card. Here are my five plays across the programs.

Bet One: Win, Gold Coast Race One, Number 3 Miss Dubois
I’m hoping Miss Dubois can get to black figures. She looks an absolute moral. Has had little to no luck in three runs back from a spell but despite that has run some ripping races. Finds a very thin race here and is perhaps on trial for a start in the Ipswich Cup next Saturday. With normal luck, she puts this field away.

Bet Two: Win, Gold Coast Race Nine, Number 3 Cadogan
Cadogan’s really turned the corner since joining Toby Edmonds. A lovely ride got him home two back on Tamworth Cup Day before racing over 1350m at Doomben when a narrow second to No Annamossity. Meets a much weaker field this time around and with luck from the sticky draw, he should just about win. $2.50 more than acceptable.

Bet Three: Win, Gawler Race Five, Number 1 Oh Mo
Boy is the $3 is more than acceptable. Writing this on Tuesday night, not sure he’s running given he is also nominated for Adelaide on Saturday, but if he runs, I’m quite keen. Did plenty wrong when winning here first up but won with a touch of class and arrogance. I think with natural improvement, he’ll just about win.

Bet Four: Win, Gawler Race Eight, Number 5 Beerzatbernz
He’s short enough at $2.60, hopefully he gets to longer, but I think he’ll take some beating. First up run was just a pass mark but I thought he was much better last time out when fourth to He’s A Moral. If he can overcome the sticky draw, he’ll prove hard to hold out.

Bet Five: Each Way, Gawler Race Nine, Number 3 Extreme Witness
The talented son of Star Witness that resumes for Lloyd Kennewell. Resumes as a gelding which could well be the making of him because the talent was clearly on display last prep, but he did a few things. Hopefully the gelding operation irons him out and the recent trial was a good sign.
