Three meetings set down for Monday, with my main focus being at Cessnock where seven races have been set down. Here are my five plays for the afternoon.

Bet One- Multi- Cessnock Race One Hendo’s Magic/Race Three White Boots
If he holds his form, Hendo’s Magic is a $1.10 chance against a bunch of scrubs. Got the form on the board, with last start seeing him run second to a recent Randwick place-getter.

Chased hard at the end of the 2360m so the 2125m is no issue here and only bad luck beats him. White Boots looks extremely well placed in the third.

Resumed at Hawkesbury and was far from disgraced behind Legislation. Should lead these for fun and on a dry Cessnock track, leading will ensure he takes beating.

Bet: $35 Multi at $3.1 (Crownbet)

Bet Two- Win- Cessnock Race Two Number 7 Tangarra Express
One of two horses at silly odds for mine. He’s a 16 start maiden yes, but he hasn’t been far away of late and gets back onto his home track, where he placed in his lone run. Ran over the Tamworth mile last time and I thought he worked home well late behind Marfaz in a maiden which was weaker than this yes, but if he can sit closer in the run from the draw, with RT on, he’ll run a beauty.

Bet: $20 Win/$35 Place at $11/$3.2 (Crownbet)

Bet Three- Win- Cessnock Race Six Number 12 Redeemable
$21+ seems mad for this Marc Conners-trained mare. Resumed over 1200m on a bog at Nowra and while she was never likely, I thought she picked up okay late and was sound in defeat behind Where’s Fraunhofer, who looks a nice type.

This maiden looks far easier to the one she resumed in, firmer footing a tick, and if Deanne can hold a decent spot from gate one, I think she gives a sight at odds.

Bet: $10 Win/$20 Place at $19/$5 (Sportsbet)

Bet Four- Win- Moruya Race Two Number 9 Sausedge
Bit of a nothing meeting at Moruya, but this girl does look well placed on debut. Matty Dale trains this daughter of Shamus Award, who trialled up really well a couple of weeks back against the older horses when a narrow second to Flora Bel. Don’t think she has to be a world beater to take care of these.

Bet: $50 Win at $2.2 (Sportsbet)

Bet Five- Win- Moruya Race Four Number 1 Biodynamic
To say the set up is weird would be an understatement. Hard mile just over two weeks back, and is now back to the 1210m.

Danny Williams can throw a curve ball at times, but this is something else. What I will say is that he’s hard fit and will be strong late. That, and I do have reservations about the form surrounding the three key market hopes.

Bet: $15 E/W (Tote)
