After nearly two weeks of mind-numbing stalemates, the last two days of the AFL trade period delivered.

We saw trades-a-plenty go down on deadline day, including Brad Hill’s move to St Kilda – just one of a flurry of Saints moves – but it was the stunning revelation that deals for Joe Daniher, Tom Papley and Jack Martin weren’t done ahead of the 7:30pm deadline.

It’s never too early to make a call on whether teams have won or lost trades, so we jump right in with Roar AFL expert and editor Stirling Coates live in studio on the Game of Codes podcast to analyse the 2019 trade period and make a call on who the biggest winners and losers were.

But, we have to start looking at the big no-deals involving Daniher, Papley and Martin.

Listen to all the discussion in the player above.

Who paid overs and who snared a bargain? Who’ll look back on this trade period in five years’ time and smile, and who’ll look back and hang their heads in shame?
