Tottenham Hotspur is currently playing some impressive football under the guidance of Ange Postecoglou.
Currently leading the Premier League, Tottenham Hotspur have their UK and worldwide supporters hoping for a historic season and finally a trophy to their name.
It is their best start to a season since the 1960-61 season when they started the campaign with 11 straight wins on their way to winning the league title.
But there is a long way to go and like any campaign, it can change quickly.
The boy from South Melbourne knows that, as he told reporters post-match after their Monday Night win over Fulham.
“Look, it’s credit to everyone. It’s a really encouraging start to the season for sure. Performance-wise, we’ve been really consistent,” Postecoglou said.

Since he arrived at Tottenham, he has shown remarkable composure, a quality that has been lacking in Spurs’ managers since Harry Redknapp and more recently Mauricio Pochettino. Despite coming close to success, the latter was ultimately defeated by some of the world’s best teams.
This included their 2019 UEFA Champions League final loss to Liverpool.
James Maddison, Heung-Min Son and Micky van de Ven, as well as Dejan Kulusevski, have been performing exceptionally well up to this point.
All four players have combined for 25 goals this year, with Brazillian striker Richarlison already contributing with three assists.
The style of play has been the driving force behind Spurs’ transformation. The team has shifted from trying to play perfect football under the likes of Antonio Conte to a more carefree style that has worked wonders at clubs like Brisbane Roar, Melbourne Victory, Australia, Yokohama F. Marinos, and Celtic.
It’s refreshing to hear the radio broadcasters marvel at how well Spurs are playing during matches. As the Premier League match day draws closer, I find myself getting more excited.
I’m looking forward to the free-flowing play, the goals and singing ‘I am loving big Ange instead’ which I know by heart.

At the same time, I can’t help but wonder what the gatekeepers of Australian football are thinking right now, especially Les Murray whose broadcasts captured my attention during the Socceroos’ 2006 dream run.
I wish Les were here to capture this moment. Perhaps his spirit is flowing through Ange’s game style, or even the Socceroos under Graham Arnold who dared to dream at last year’s World Cup.
Spurs have four winnable matches coming up.
The team is scheduled to travel to Crystal Palace, which is currently positioned at 11th place.
After that, they will play against Chelsea, Wolves and Aston Villa. If they manage to remain unbeaten until match day 13, they will face Manchester City at the Etihad in a game that could be a defining moment in the title race.
But for now, let’s stay in the present, as Ange would say. It’s an incredible time for Australian football, with the Matildas playing their first match of Olympic qualifying against Iran on Thursday night with an expected sell-out crowd at Perth’s Optus Stadium.
The A-League for both men and women is off to a good start, and it’s surprising to see Patrick Kisnorbo still holding his job at French club side ES Troyes AC.
There’s a lot to like about the world game right now, and let’s hope it continues.
