WATCH: 'Another banger!' This might be Luka Doncic's most outrageous moment yet
Ridiculous yet again from the Mavericks star!
Dynamo point guard Patty Mills will become just the second Australian to feature in the NBA Finals after Luc Longley. The finals commence on June 6 in an expected showdown with defending champions Miami Heat.
Longley won three rings in the second of Michael Jordan and Phil Jackson’s three-peat in Chicago. Andrew Gaze does have a championship ring as part of the 1999 winning Spurs squad, however he didn’t play most of that season, including the playoffs.
Patty Mills hasn’t had a lot of game this season either, which is frustrating. The guy can play and certainly holds his own coming off the bench. Playing in a strong team like the Spurs has seen Mills drop back on the depth chart.
I’d like to see Mills play for another club next season simply for the sake of getting more minutes. He is in a great environment and will have learnt a lot from future hall of famer Tony Parker. However I think, despite his size, Mills is good enough to start for a few teams, or at the very least get meaningful minutes.
Mills is unlikely to see game time in the finals save for injury. He will be there and will be hoping coach Popp calls his name. If not he will certainly cherish being part of a finals campaign as the Spurs chase their fifth NBA title.
Congratulations Patty!
