The IndyCar Afterburn: Indy GP 2024 - Will Power the bridesmaid again as Alex Palou retakes standings lead with victory
Since the Aussie's last victory, he has claimed seven second-placed finishes after being unable to catch Alex Palou.
Felipe Massa has been given the nod to become Pastor Maldonado’s replacement at the Williams F1 Team for the 2014 season.
Massa was let go by his current Ferrari team earlier this year to make way for the return of Kimi Raikkonen.
At the end of this year, Massa will have completed his eighth year with the Scuderia, amassing 11 grand prix victories and also finishing runner up by a single point in the 2008 championship.
“Williams is one of the most successful and important teams of all time in Formula One,” said Massa.
“When I was a kid, I always dreamed about racing for Williams, Ferrari or McLaren and I’m glad to be signing with another icon of the sport following my time at Ferrari.”
Team Principal Sir Frank Williams said “We are delighted to be able to confirm our 2014 driver line-up and welcome Felipe into the Williams family.
“He is an exceptional talent and a real fighter on the race track; he also brings a wealth of experience as we begin a new chapter in our story.”
Massa becomes the sixth Brazilian driver to represent the Williams F1 Team. The legendary British team was previously home to drivers such as Nelson Piquet, Ayrton Senna and even Rubens Barrichello.
Valtteri Bottas is confirmed to partner the Brazilian next year, in what will be his second for Williams.
The Finnish driver has endured a tough year with an uncompetitive car, but stood out at the Canadian Grand Prix, qualifying third in tricky conditions.
While Massa is on a three year deal with Williams, the plans of Maldonado are currently unknown.
It was said his backing from Venezuelan oil giant PDVSA would land him a deal with Lotus, however that looks unlikely, with the advent of Quantum Motorsports signing with Lotus.
Quantum’s preference is to have Sauber star Nico Hulkenberg.

Theo Pourchaire replaces David Malukas, who got injured and then fired before he could even sit in the car.
The third ever Miami Grand Prix is in the history books and finally Lando Norris has tasted the victory champagne. That is one of…
The Australian finished second but had to work for it, as he fought off food poisoning, a race day engine change, and his own overheating body.
Nico Hulkenberg's move to a German team will hopefully bring back some of the German flare Formula 1 had just seven years ago.
Given how exclusive and precious a commodity scoring an F1 point is, why is it that mediocrity should be rewarded?
