Any follower of the NBA will be familiar with the name LeBron James. Whether you love him or hate him, his legacy and dazzling skillset rank him as one of the greatest players of all time.
LeBron is getting older, he will turn 31 at the end of this calendar year, and opposing coaches and players will breath a sigh of relief when King James calls time on an illustrious career.
But not so fast. When the time comes for LeBron to call it time, LeBron James Jr will arrive on the scene. He may only be 10 years old, but James Jr had no trouble showcasing his swagger at the Youth All Star Tournament.
While it is hard to ascertain just how far LeBron James Jr will go, take a look at his highlight’s from the tournament, as he proceeds to dish out dime after dime and knock down jumper after jumper.
LeBron James Jr does have big shoes to fill (not just literally) if he is to make it in the NBA. His father, LeBron, is considered to be one of the greatest players of all time. When James was asked who he would place on the NBA’s Mount Rushmore, he placed himself in the discussion. ‘King’ James is often compared with Michael Jordan, who is considered the greatest basketball player of all time.
In an era that featured stars such as Kobe Bryant, Dwyane Wade, Tim Duncan and Vince Carter, LeBron’ elevated his name above the pack. Over his 11-year career, LeBron has won two NBA Championships, both coming with the Miami Heat in 2012 and 2013. In almost 900 games, he averages 27.4 points, 7.1 rebounds and 6.9 assists a game on 50 per cent from the field. The four-time MVP recently passed Allen Iverson to move into 22nd on the all time scoring list with 24,383 points.
If LeBron James Jr manages to have half the NBA career his father did, he will be one hell of a player.
