do as you like benji, please dont come to the tahs, we have already made a long list of dumb signings in our somewhat disenchanted success, spare everyone the misery of being let down mid season 2014

SPIRO: Rugby should holler for a Benji Marshall

Please NSW Waratahs, do not sign Benji, it would be another long list of disasters, it would fall into the dumb category list with the like of Tom Carter, Nathan Blacklock, Sam Norton-Knight et al …..he’s a kiwi as well, go let him play for the blues and try his heart out to get in the squad for the All Blacks

Waratahs want Benji Marshall

I dont think the ABs will want him, the highlanders may be looking for another coach but it is unlikely that he will want to hold their office – i think RD will be happy to take a fat pay cheque in the likes of an Italian national team or French top 14 and make the most of his retirement where results arent necessarily the focus; there was a pretty candid article in the New Zealand Herald today for that matter regarding his direction if its worth your time

Every dingo has its day: Moving forward with Australian rugby

RD was a good coach, just not the great one we had all hoped for, didnt get the results where it mattered. However Australian Rugby could be in a vastly different place if wasnt appointed as a coach. Even with Ewen appointed as coach, he only has a 2 and a half year contract, and it ends at the same time Jake Whites contract ends with the Brumbies, will be an interesting succession plan after the next world cup

SPIRO: Ewen McKenzie is the right coach for the Wallabies

ouch

O'Connor had to go says Higginbotham

o’connor should be on the bench for game 3, leafliano calls the shots from 10, ben tapuahi slots in at 12

Wallabies vs Lions: Deans' personnel wins and losses

what on earth does the IRB hope to accomplish by this? pretty rubbish timing given that its in the middle of a series before a potential series defining game! very disrespectful to Australian Rugby. After all Alun Wyn Jones only had to get a couple of stitches [cue teaspoon of cement]. This sets a dangerous precedent, if the Lions are hapy to use their media as leverage and the British media lobbied for this it only goes to show that they are generally worried about not being good enough to beat the Wallabies, The wallabies are at their best when their backs are to the wall, and by poking a stick in the face of the Wallabies your only going to make them more angry and play harder. I hope this team wipes the smirk off their faces after saturday night, Wallabies 2-1!!

The IRB step in on Horwill

well written! barnes and oconnor didnt repay the faith that robbie deans gave them, considering the wallabies missed 12 points at goal wasnt good enough, we will be better of next week!!

An unfortunate date for Australian Rugby

no mate

Fifteen reasons why the Lions will beat the Wallabies

oh the honey badger! thats a real shame about Tomane: one of those guys who could really step up to the international game, will probably mean that he will miss out on a sport for the series; still there is plenty of bank in Australia’s wing/full back spots

Wallabies lose Tomane with toe injury

yes this is the second time this article was posted, was unintentional on my behalf, not sure how it came to be posted again, however still good room for some banter!

Lions tour is about redemption for Robbie Deans

massive loss, higgs is such a beast; however will only be bigger and angrier next year, time to step up benny mowen!

Wallabies Scott Higginbotham ruled out of Lions Tour, rugby for 2013

Tom Carter is in the side too …. help us all

McCutcheon to lead Waratahs against Force

Jed holloway is starting, lucky to play for NSW ever again considering he costs us the game against the Crusaders

McCutcheon to lead Waratahs against Force

the last thing that RD wants is to be goaded into selecting QC like Graham Henry did in the 2011 RWC. Sir Graham publicly stated that only Quade could bring down the downfall of the All Blacks, low and behold Robbie took the bait and the rest is history. Quade should only be included if the wallabies management believe that he is compatible and complementary to training with the squad, and more importantly that he plays mistake free quality rugby. With perhaps the exception of the chiefs game he hasn’t been to mr consistency for a full 80 minutes this season

Deans could be making a big mistake with Quade

hhmm…. support blindly hah!

Is it unpatriotic for an Aussie to rubbish the Wallabies?

lets hope that the wallabies win and there is some good rugby played!! although highly unlikely maybe many league supporters will see through the trivialisation/instant gratification/degenerate affair that the NRL has become. in saying that the socceroos are playing tonight!!!!

My rugby union relapse

lets hope not, nobody is bigger than the game, Izzy can prove that money talks, how about he start walking the walk and make a genuine commitment

Izzy, you’d be better off in rugby

According to the paper he has agreed to terms with the bulldogs, and can only mean that they gave him a better offer the n the ARU, which I have interpreted as 95% he will sign for the dogs, lets hope he stays!

Izzy, you’d be better off in rugby

higgers is such a beast, so good, apparently dislocation wasnt too bad and 1st time he has done it, fingers crossed as he would of been the starting 6 for sure!!

Robbie Deans shows steel behind gentle demeanour

you could tell from the press conference that robbie was very shrewd in giving anything away, which means he is very focused and has those competitive juices pumping!!! only a good sign of things to come, lets have the wallabies train hard for the next few weeks, hopefully higgs and ioane will be ready for the 1st test!! wallabies 3-0

Robbie Deans shows steel behind gentle demeanour

Lets just hope that Pyle isn’t injured as well, left the field very early last night, big shame about Higgs, he was looking the best out of all the backrowers and will be missed at line-outs, and with his speed to the breakdown, hopefully he is back for game 2!!!

Higginbotham, Ioane, and Timani injured, out of Wallabies squad

is it just me or is everyone talking Hugh McMinimen up? He is a good solid player with plenty of ticker but not necessarily Wallabies material; Scott Higgenbothem is totally underrated as a line-out jumper and his ability from the restarts, definitely warrants a start against the Lions, has the potential to be one of the players of the series

Calling the Wallabies lineout: why all the fuss?

AAC, Folau, Genia, Horwill and Higginbottem will be the big players this series, add JOC to the list too if he manages to keep his head screwed on.

Which Wallabies will grab the big moments?

With regards to faked injury breaks; league is a much slower game than union, its easier for a prop or a second rower to hide behind the attacking line and get patched up from a trainer that always seems to be on the field, there is no hiding in union as the ball is always contestable and players are more aware of their peripheral vision. Also you cant have any less positions in the scrum, it other wise becomes too dangerous; you could tweak various laws in rugby where if you weren’t square in the ruck/not coming through the gate you could be awarded a free kick, that could work, some of the skills learned in rugby is pilfering/slowing the ball. Making the game go for 90 minutes is a good one. scrums have continually been flogged to death in the laws, but are gradually improving. overall rugby is a game for all shapes and sizes, a game perfectly deigned for kids, lets keep it that way!
