Patriotic Queenslander hailing from south side of Brisbane. Support anything, Red, Dark Red, Maroon, Green & Gold, and teams from Brisbane or Gold Coast. Still waiting for a stadium and team on the southside of Brisbane.

Not so sure, Hawks have Tasmania covered. AFL wants to keep MCG full, and Marvel Stadium full. AFL owns Marvel Stadium.

There are too many NRL clubs in Sydney

Agree with a lot of those comments. There is also a few other elements at player. I read by a Roarer that 200 NZ players are playing in the NRL. How do you connect with the community if you only play imports and snub your nose at the locals. If an Australian Citizenship was required, might change a few things.

Need to focus on South Brisbane and Ipswich. May also be an argument for Redcliffe.

South Brisbane is the answer to South Sydney woes. Just need a stadium built at a place like Runcorn.

That is why it needs to be in South Brisbane and Ipswich. Far enough away from Suncorp to avoid cannibalising the Broncos.

A team in Adelaide just ticks a box though. Best thing for Adelaide is a relationship with the Storm or another club, with feature games held.

Too many teams, means a long wait between Premierships. Don’t add to the comp, just relocate two Sydney teams to Ipswich and South Brisbane. Focus on heartland.

5 teams QLD. Brisbane Broncos, Gold Coast Titans, Nth QLD Cowboys, Ipswich West Tigers (relocation – Stadium needed at Ipswich), Souths Rabbitohs (relocation to Brisbane, stadium would need to be built at a place like Runcorn).

8 teams NSW. Eels, Bulldogs, Panthers, Roosters, Sea Eagles, Dragons, Knights, Raiders, Sharks.

2 teams outside QLD and NSW. Melbourne Storm, NZ Warriors.

This is service and hitting ball at place. What is old is new.

Will Skelton well worth a World Cup punt

Thanks Elvis you might be right. That could also work. You talking straight knockout right?

If 8 in sh. I would have 2 sa 2 nz 2 oz 2 grr. Argentina have to qualify through sa conference.

Only issue with this is doesnt give benefit to local grounds and provide a mich needed boost.

For player eligibility. Just need rule in place from things from getting really silly with billionaires buying teams. Thought national ring fence could be a good step. Open to other suggestions though.

Alignment and centralisation: Sounds great, but will it work for Wallabies?

Hey RL. Not necessarily. Will be same number of games, less travel and players will be well rested. Number of players might change, but have a counter move for that. Stay tuned mate, article already penned.
For origin, open for debate that one. To be honest I’m just a parochial Queenslander brought up on a diet of origin. Sick of our team being weakened and our talent stripped so other teams can do well. SOO has rules that govern who plays for nsw or qld and some elements of that could be pinched.

Nick thoroughly enjoyed that one. I couldn’t believe how crisp and sharp gregans service was either. Watching that compared to the slow coach half backs today paints a picture. Too be fair not just half backs but everyone was rapidly linlinikng up. What a difference fatigued players make I guess.

Sliding doors: Wallaby lessons from the 2001 Lions tour

I thought the same.

Take me back: How to fix the Wallabies

Next stadium built in QLD needs to be on southside brissie.

Take me back: How to fix the Wallabies

CBUS at Robina is out of the way. Why a stadium wasn’t built in a better locale beggars belief. WIN stadium prime example. Kurrawa beach would have been prime location. Now that is Gold Coast.

Thats ok Sheek, respect there are different views out there. And was genuine about the nams dark reds. Strong brand.

My view. It is expensive to be a sports fan these days. Many fans are priced out. The price of the tickets, drinks, food, jersey, merchandise. A community model for rugby could move away from that with ballymore, dolphins stadium 11k, new southside stadium maybe at runcorn, bond uni or cbus etc.. Dont need massive 35k fans. Just strong connection.

AFL is highest attended sport in oz and is embedded and rooted in communities. Suburbs. NRL was once the same but seems to have lost its way. Too many imports. We focus just on city teams, may as well stay SR. Just my view. But SR season length is absurd for players when considering tests a back of year.

So bring game back to the people.

Making the World Super Rugby Championship a reality

That is a good question. Pretty keen to see what teams and players end up in Global Rapid Rugby. https://www.rapidrugby.com/rapid-rugby/ What is latest on Hawaii, Panasonic Knights etc?

Making the World Super Rugby Championship a reality

Rob9, come on mate. In all seriousness, if a World Super Rugby Championship was held every eight years with 3 local pool games, would you go watch a game like Reds v Toulon, or Reds v Munster, or Reds v Wasps. I think you would. We both would. Would fans in Europe watch Leinster v Reds, Leinster v Chiefs? I think they would. Would fans in ACT do the same. Yes. NSW yes. Melbourne, a World Championship, I think that would also for that very reason.
And by the way off topic sorry. Read you article for league in 2050. Completely agree with North v South Brissy rivarly and need for a stadium in the south of Brissy. Where do you think the ideal spot to build it would be?

Making the World Super Rugby Championship a reality

Exactly. Hence the pooling option.

Not bad combo.
Toomua. 1.82m 91kg. Kicking reportedly improved in Europe.
Kuridrani. 1.91m 104kg. Size in the middle, as Deans says. Ball runner. Going to need size in World Cup bash fest.

Alignment and centralisation: Sounds great, but will it work for Wallabies?

Not if northern island wants to stay in eu and votes to join ireland.

2019: The battle for the soul of Pasifika rugby

Which centres in Australia can defend in their own right?

Alignment and centralisation: Sounds great, but will it work for Wallabies?

Is two World Cups is more than fair for Cheika? I’d say so. His positioned is now assured through to Japan. Which should be good for Aussie Rugby in terms of performance. Rather than worry about getting sacked and play for survival, he can now play to win. Then retire gracefully after Cup so Australia can appoint next coach for next 4 year RWC cycle. Surely there is no need for undermining.

Personally, I would love o see Cheika in a community grass roots role in NSW. Not flipping the sausages, but more passing on knowledge to the school coaches and club coaches. Inspiring next generation.

Alignment and centralisation: Sounds great, but will it work for Wallabies?

Specialist yep. And a few generalists.

That’s it. Up front. Stick to it. NZ-OZ resting alignment. Rest for international. Rest sooner though in season, not the end of it. If teams are looking to make finals, SR teams need to be gaining momentum. Momentum leads into stronger Wallabies and ABs in World Cup year.
