I agree a few weeks off wouldn’t go astray. Chances of that are pretty slim, though, I reckon.
He's not the messiah: Ablett's failed Easter resurrection shows Eade needs a new approach
Ha! Nicely done.
He's not the messiah: Ablett's failed Easter resurrection shows Eade needs a new approach
Both those players went close, as did Tom’s father, Jack.
The Riverina Australian Rules Team of All-Time
The Hugo name is very famous in Narrandera. I used to love reading his name in the record. I knew of him before I knew of the author.
The Riverina Australian Rules Team of All-Time
Yes that is one of the prerequisites. I know there are plenty more players that didn’t play at the top level that could be considered.
The Riverina Australian Rules Team of All-Time
I agree. That Brisbane team are in a league of their own. Especially in the 01-02 period when they won 20-odd games in a row. Also, they never finished on top of the ladder. In 03 they even finished third, but knew how to win when it mattered.
A place in AFL history awaits Hawthorn or Sydney
You’ll have to ask the good people of The Roar editorial team. The original title didn’t mention AFL, just history.
A place in AFL history awaits Hawthorn or Sydney
I forgot to mention Ziebell. He has really come of age recently. He had a great game against Essendon and spent quite a bit of time deep in the forward line. Can be very dangerous.
An AFL semi-final for the history books
I obviously didn’t have my finger on the pulse there. Makes it even harder for them.
An AFL semi-final for the history books
Don’t start making excuses, Don. Get amongst it. You can pretend its a South Freo beanie. Except that it’ll say Swans on it.
The passion of the Richmond Tigers
That Daniel Chick smother and follow-up is one if my favourite highlights of all time.
Greatest AFL grand final clutch moments of the last decade
Hawkins was the difference in that game. He turned it on its. Head.
Greatest AFL grand final clutch moments of the last decade
That’s one of the great things about following a footy team. There’s often no rhyme or reason to who you support but you do it with all your heart and soul.
The passion of the Richmond Tigers
West Coast sent out of the running just yet. They have winnable games against Melbourne and Gold Coast and a percentage higher than the three teams above them. If North beat Adelaide next week the Eagles are still a big chance.
AFL Round 21 review
When those main forwards don’t get a few goals between them they don’t have enough other options to kick a score. They’ve missed Walters hugely. Hopefully he can make an impact in the last few games and finals.
A gap the size of the Nullarbor
Illustrates my point perfectly. They need their best forwards on the park and kicking goals, not relying on midfielders to do the work for them.
A gap the size of the Nullarbor
Good point about Lake. They recruited him to help them win a premiership but who do they have to fill the job when he’s gone?
A gap the size of the Nullarbor
No, I can’t. That’s why it would be extraordinary, but mathematically they’re not there yet.
The AFL season will go down to the wire
Hard to argue with that list. I may have squeezed John Worsfold into the top 10.
The 10 greatest West Coast Eagles
Of course. I’ll blame that on the editors!
Things have changed for the Pies and the Power
Even with their injuries the midfield still had Lewis, Burgoyne and Sewell. Pretty handy.
Hawthorn have shown resilience in the face of adversity
The forward line is the best in the league for my money. I reckon Breust will go close to B&F this year. He’s been outstanding.
Hawthorn have shown resilience in the face of adversity
Ceglar is keeping McEvoy out of the team, who was brought over to be the no. 1 ruckman. He must be doing something right.
Matt Spangher is another one who is held his own in the absence of a few key defenders.
Hawthorn have shown resilience in the face of adversity
I reckon you’re right.
Sydney, where the big men fly like swans
