cs is a former No. 8 who remembers playing in a forward pack as the most (legal) fun he's ever had. These days he spends a fair share of his professional time crunching very hard numbers.

Jez posted a pretty good theory somewhere to the effect that DC has no room to play anyone he doesn’t think is his best option right now for as many minutes as he can get out of them. The pressure is cruel, and is why Jake hardly ever gets off the field and others who we’d like to see can’t get a chance,

Indeed. Must be just about enough time lapsed to read it again. I always remember the character who played some game he hated because every minute went for ages and he figured he was living longer. Twisting the logic, I like to tell people who don’t like test cricket that it makes time slow down and hence they’ll live longer.

Back on topic. One cruel extension to Ben’s logic is that the better the player the more likely they’ll be injured since the opposition will be aiming the hardest to stop them.

Like, except for the ‘by 10’ bit.

Regressed might be a bit harsh. Not yet fully back in the saddle could be nearer.

Hopefully Harrison’s departure isn’t quite the done deal reported. Hasn’t found his feet as a starting 10 yet and perhaps this will be the week. Tahs still have a lot of firepower and should be able to give this game a red hot go, provided we turn up. Love watching KB go round, but hate to think what’ll happen if he has to tackle Marky.

Go the Tahs!

Great column Harry.

It’s Kellaway at 15 for me. As whoever said, ‘the best, most consistent 15 we have by far, should start every game.’

That said, I’d be interested to see how Campbell goes. Wright possibly on the bench, pending an equally thorough discussion on the best utility.

Kells, Wright, Donno, Jock or Kurtley? What Joe Schmidt's past tells us about the Wallaby fullback sweepstakes

Is that the same Newsome who captained the Tahs the season we didn’t win a game? Save me.

I doubt that Kerevs got one good ball in the entire cup.

No it isn’t GJ-J. The validity of a survey depends firstly on the size of the ‘population’ sampled. Using the player population is kind. It gets worse if you use the fan base or general public as the population.

I was surprised to see Tom Wright have an ineffectual game on Friday night. He’s better than that but no way he would have made anyone’s TOTW ( although one could argue Campbell over KB.)

Five things: Where DC got it wrong with Tahs, perception and reality for Wallabies hopeful as Test bolter shines

In his own crazy way, Revok is an institution round the place.

Huh? Including, inter alia, Daniel Herbert, Phil Waugh and Joe Roff?

Yep. Thanks Don.

Has SOARR ever explained how directors could be elected without a nominations committee? Wouldn’t it be impossible for electors to choose from a gigantic tablecloth of every man, woman and their dog? Seems like a recipe for chaos.

Already we forget the details but my memory is that the board did remove Hamish.

The members would have but as it happened, once the writing was on the wall, the board acted. It was a unanimous vote, with Hamish and Dan absent, having left the room.

Could well be wrong, but that’s how I remember it without having to go back and look it all up again.

I trust that’s a promise Biscuit Man.

Going on his comments during the game, I imagined Doc’s TV was at serious risk during the first half.

The NZ data looks hard enough (for NZ).

Fair cop, although I don’t think I have a record of relying on questionable quotes like kp.

Apparently hard data is scarce, except for NZ, where the figures are indeed well up, confirming my observations. We will have to wait on Stan.

Last thing I wish to argue over, but must say that Shorten seems to be giving straightening out the NDIS a decent shot.

But you also said New Zealand. I’m not going to have another of your slippery slide chats.

Not sure we should be competing with NRL. I’d rather see rugby differentiating itself more clearly from NRL. In any event, competing with it in, say, media space is impossible without some equivalent to the Murdoch Industrial Complex.

In the meantime, rugby crowds seem up to me, and apparently Stan ratings are through the roof.

This isn’t to say there isn’t room for continuous improvement but I’m happy to let Dan and Phil have a good go after all the recent chaos before indulging more catastrophising (which rugby supporters are good at).
