I like quick open play and see the game as a showcase for individual skills. Game day is show time and I want to see the games elite show off. The individuals involved in AFL are on their own journey. They may win my heart with their flamboyance or courage and take me on a magic footy trip and you can't ask any more than that.. I don't sit in judgement and they have nothing to prove... I look to groups like the MCC and the AFL to promote adult participation in sports. This is their people sanctioned role. The most electric atmosphere at any ground this year is Taylor Walker approaching his ten goals... So individual stars really are the show.... That's why they are 99 percent of the media talk... same names again and again. The clubs exist for the development of the individuals... It's not the other way around... the players don't exist merely for the betterment of the club.

I think Norman embraced the show over the result which often went against him…. I like him as an example of majors not being the only measure of greatness… he contended so often he had to miss a few….. His recent comments about being too cavalier in the clutches was interesting…. Maybe he played to the gallery more than he should….. I think he loves people… he loves golf.
Cameron Smith might never get so close again and could still have a great life…. It was a big sign that he dragged himself up for another crack after that outrageous chip in… Those two guys were totally in each other’s head space and when their two balls follow each other around like that it’s rare air indeed…. It was like Cameron Smith didn’t just want to beat Scheffler…. he wanted to beat him sort of every shot and I guess thats how those ultra skilled competitions can play out…. You start playing the man because the course is never as interesting…

Are umpires there to serve the flow of play for out elite athletes… or impinge their authority on the naughty boys…. about half of the decisions could be left uncalled….. it’ would be a better game for it… but we wouldn’t have anything to talk about….

nothing provides the AFL with more free advertising in a week in week out way than adjudication confusion….. they would have to be mad to clarify anything….. it’s all a bit of a laugh anyway…. Mock serious but really kinda comical…. don’t sell the sausage sell the sizzle….

There are players I felt like booing for no particular reason other than they rubbed me the wrong way….. Sam Mitchell I could have booed while not really knowing why…. One person booing isn’t really worth it but it’s a start…. any crowd unity is a story….. I reckon a lot of the Booing history is to do with getting the best of the umpires…. which I think is part of the game…. They call little frees so it’s beholden on smarter players to use that nit picking to their advantage and they do…

Ummmm it’s called fear….. our boldest and most highly skilled athletic warriors are undone by a little emotion…. my solution is to play and train scared until it becomes your best friend…. is emotional entelligence the new training even superseding mental works… or are they linked…. can you practice emotions? are our mental considerations actually the result of our emotional state? So why work on the mind when you can address the emotions in the physical world..?

I sort of look at it a different way to you… obviously…. the society exists for the benefit of the individual and those individuals are all on their own journey….. you may not understand them but if that’s what you want to do then that’s up to you….. To say that I only exist to fit in with what others have chosen to believe in is not the way I look at it……

But you still get to agree or dissagree what goes in your own body…If I was selfish I’d just go along because it’s easier… by saying no to the Vaccine for myself I am just being true to my own thoughts on the subject. Wow what a great club to inspire such articulate, detailed and concentrated bashing. All this stuff reads like a giant lover letter such is the familiarity with which the subject is addressed. I think the cats should listen to all this free advice… keep it coming. If someone throws rocks make a wall.

Lets not call it “respect” as that has to be earned…. it is simply saluting the cap…..”well you’re the boss Mr Umpire….” What would be the sporting equivalent of a gesture that signifies the salute…. without doing any kind of formal salute….. Maybe a thumbs up or the A OK little circle …. Obviously nothing to do with the arms raising….. Remember it’s not respect it’s simply saluting the cap…. If the umpire’s want respect they will unify their interpretations consistently ….. What about the popular hand to the heart?
