The Taipans defence was poor in the first quarter, but kept Adelaide to just 17 points in the first half as they took the lead with two minutes left before half time. A tough finish by Petrie returned the lead to Adelaide with just seconds left in the first half, but there are plenty of positives to take out of the second quarter for Cairns.
Starks appeared to be getting into his groove shortly before the main break, and the Taipans have done a good job of clamping down on Randle, who is just 3-10 from the floor. If Cairns can continue to bridge the gap in points in the paint (16-24) and force the 36ers into low percentage looks, this win looks highly probable.
