Melbourne Cup-goer shoves policeman into a bush
Quite frankly, the VRC need to be shot for the track they have dished up on Saturday and Tuesday. I do not think there has been such a biased Melbourne Cup carnival. I usually like punting on Flemington as every horse gets a fair crack but this whole carnival is just a joke. As for Exospheres run, can’t blame the horse too much. He pulled out into the centre of the track in the soft going while the placegetters stuck on the firm inside going. He was one of many victims of a shocking biased track that day
Past the Post: Derby Day wrap
I think after this episode you might find some of the leading English trainers when they take their best horse over for the cup that they will take over a pacemaker as well to ensure a true staying contest is provided. They are well known for doing this tactic in big races. Look at Frankel for example. Nearly all his races there was a stablemate to ensure the race was run at a specific tempo to suit him.
Melbourne Cup 2015: Where the race was won and lost
I think the question on everyone’s lips is will McCaw still be playing in 2019
SPIRO: Can the All Blacks win the 2019 Rugby World Cup in Japan?
New Zealand papers were posting Savea won an hour ago. Guess they pressed the send button prematurely
King Carter a class above
Scratch that. The stuff.co.nz posted a premature article an hour ago that Savea had won it. Congratulations to Dan Carter. Like Richie a three time world rugby player of the year
SBW given replacement World Cup medal
Hahaha. The stuff.co.nz posted an article that Julian Savea won an hour ago. Guess they were a bit premature. Dan Carter won it
Pocock and Hooper in line for top player gong
Agree with the scrum resets. Definitely should stop the clock and not start it up again until the scrum is fed
Scope of TMO could be expanded post RWC
So now the reason Aussie lost was a forward pass missed by Owens who was 40 metres away and Barnes (surprise surprise) who was 10 metres away. It’s going to be a week of excuses from the Wallabies, who not only lost the world cup final but now they get to cry and bleat about Pocock missing out on player on the year to Julian Savea. Its a world rugby conspiracy against them I tell you…lol
Scope of TMO could be expanded post RWC
And Julian Savea walked away with player of the year. I thought it was between Carter and Pocock.
SBW given replacement World Cup medal
Bit of a shock here. Julian Savea actually won the player of the year
Pocock and Hooper in line for top player gong
The three biggest games of the year for the All Blacks, the quarters, semi and final he has been a star in. He also stood up in the Bledisloe cup decider. He was the man that guided us through the semi and final and for that alone, he will score big points in this award.
Pocock and Hooper in line for top player gong
Thanks to Joubert you made it beyond the quarters so its obvious who had the run of refs this tournament
All Blacks relentless in winning the Rugby World Cup
Well Barnes owed us one for 2007 but that would have not changed the outcome, unlike 2007. Wallabies were comprehensively beaten
All Blacks relentless in winning the Rugby World Cup
I would be surprised if Carter does not get the award. He has been the standout player for the finals, having great games in the quarters, semis and final.
Pocock and Hooper in line for top player gong
Hats off to Stephen Moore. Great runner up speech and showed the class and character of the man
Magnificent All Blacks beat Wallabies to win back-to-back Rugby World Cups
Yep. Tonight I reckon he locked up that award
Magnificent All Blacks beat Wallabies to win back-to-back Rugby World Cups
Fantastic win. Dan Carter with his man of the match might just get him a third World Rugby player of the year award. He has been the player of the finals, starring in the quarters, semi and final.
Magnificent All Blacks beat Wallabies to win back-to-back Rugby World Cups
Cheika is the way forward for you guys. They keep him around to 2019 Australia will be a real chance next world cup
Magnificent All Blacks beat Wallabies to win back-to-back Rugby World Cups
The one thing Cheika has done well is recognise the scrum was a big problem and got some people in to fix it who know what they are doing. For way too long Australian rugby buried its head in the sand when it came to fixing scrums. Finally with Cheika you got someone who earmarked that area as the one of most concern and got one of the best in the business to fix it. If the wallabies win, Mario Ledesma deserves as much credit as Cheika.
Michael Cheika on the brink of three international coaching records
Give me a break. All Blacks form has been better against tougher opponents.
Michael Cheika on the brink of three international coaching records
Would have thought Sanchez from Argentina would be shortlisted
Pocock and Hooper in line for top player gong
Pocock wasn’t exactly in great form either early in the season. Like Carter he had one or two good games and some rubbish thrown in. There is a much higher weighting given to World Cup performances and Carter has been very solid. Pocock is the front runner without a doubt but Australia need to win or finish close to the All Blacks for him to get the award.
Pocock and Hooper in line for top player gong
No love for TCU and Oklahoma State. You have the only game this week between two unbeaten opponents. The winner should almost elevate themselves into a top 4 spot.
