Spot on. I like the fire that guys like Fornaroli play with but it needs to controlled obviously. Bouzanis crossed the line clearly and Cahill probably did to a lesser extent. It was just a complete meltdown and its embarrasing.
Melbourne City's indiscipline is ruining their season
Australian football has a way to go I think. Yes the development of the league since 2006 has been fantastic and we have come a long way. However, promotion and relegation is a must if we are to remain relevant. I also believe that the salary cap should be removed in order for us to compete within Asia and for the overall standard of play to increase. Although, it does create division in equality with teams such as Melbourne City benefiting hugely, I think it is inevitable that it is scraped. Maybe it can be gradually increased to ease the transition but it must happen. Also, a long, long, long, long term investment should be for an actual football stadium for the national team such as Wembley. Playing on rugby pitches and stadiums where you sit 250 metres away from the action is not the best to say the least. Maybe AAMI park could be upgraded as normally the pitch is fantastic despite the presence of rugby.
No more stalling, we need a 14-team comp right now
Nice article. In particular I’m impressed by Conte’s ability to turn around to careers of guys like Alonso and Moses. Alonso was once considered an above average player in England for Bolton and Sunderland but has now turned into an absolute star on the left in his ability to play both ends of the pitch. Moses has always been liked by the clubs he has been loaned to but Chelsea has never really accepted him. This rejuvenation of talent is something that very few managers in the world can do and is a credit to Conte. However, I don’t think the title race is over like everyone says and I think if guys like Tottenham can beat Liverpool on the weekend and stick around, Chelsea might be in trouble if they have one or two bad weeks. It is pretty hard to see that happening however. Also, whoever misses out on the top four will be in some strife as Liverpool, City, United and Arsenal have spent quite a bit on their squads (well maybe not Arsenal and Liverpool to the extent of the other two), but I think only two can make it. Only Mourinho and Klopp will survive if he misses out and while Pep will probably make it through to next season also, he will be under a lot of pressure to perform. A miss on top 4 could be the end for Wenger as well. Anyway, seems the 3-4-3 is the future for English football with Tottenham also deploying it well. I am also a Spurs fan so this is probably a bit biased but I think we’ll make top 4.
