7/10. That's my score for Ewen McKenzie in his first year as coach of the Wallabies. This may seem quite generous for a coach…
By all accounts, Bledisloe three was a cracking game. Fast, free-flowing rugby from two of the world's top rugby nations (cue the claims Australia…
Saturday's Super Rugby qualifying final between the Crusaders and Reds was a great display of rugby. I have no doubt the Chiefs will be…
Scots beat a vastly inferior team. They have improved since then, but not as much as the Wallabies.
“Something to be said for leaving nothing in the tank”
I’d rather leave enough gas in the tank for the semi and final rather than put the foot down and have nothing left for Ireland/Argentina and whoever we face in the final if we get that far…
Think you’re right about Cheika and this will be his undoing in years to come. He’s done a great job turning journeymen into solid performers, just imagine what he could do with genuine talent!
Wallabies hopes rise over David Pocock's fitness
out of those 13 (or 14) games we won, name one that could be attributed to dubious refereeing that benefited the Wallabies? Maybe Australia were simply the better team in all 13 (or 14 instances)?
All Blacks relieved Wayne Barnes won't referee the France quarter-final
Don’t care if Poey is running around doing cartwheels, he should be given a week off to be absolutely sure he’s 100% recovered as we’ll need him in top shape for the last two games…. If we can’t beat Scotland without their 1st choice hooker and 2nd rower, we won’t get much further in the comp anyway…
Wallabies hopes rise over David Pocock's fitness
I think it tells us that Gits had enough caps to stay, while JOC had to return to be eligible?
Farewell James O’Connor, we hardly knew ya
Ok to have a dig at JOC but heaven forbid we have a go at Beale who has a far worse track record? Hy0cr1te….
Farewell James O’Connor, we hardly knew ya
Indeed it was, in fact NZ have beaten France twice in world cup knock-out games, both at home though… let’s see if they can do it on neutral ground….
All Blacks to face 2007 World Cup demons
Disagree – instigators should be held accountable for their part in provoking a reaction. I have no problem with a player striking the arm of an instigator holding him back… shouldn’t be throwing punches at the head or any other part of the body though…
Scottish duo cited, Pocock free to play
“Now you can’t get more payback then that!!?”
Yeah you can – beat them in a world cup knockout game… go on, do it…
All Blacks to face 2007 World Cup demons
Richard, I was referring to comments made by a number of posters here saying that no wallaby would make the NZ team… I don’t think any player/ex-player or coach/ex-coach of NZ would say something like this, but there are a few NZ roarers that seem to think the sun shines from a very dark place…
The new golden age for the Wallabies has arrived
SSSHHHHHHHH…. let’s make the final and put in a good performance there before we get carried away with any “golden age” stuff…. apparently not a single wallaby would make the NZ side, or England for that matter, so I’d say we need to change perception about the former as we’ve done with the latter before we can make any claims about the next golden age …
The new golden age for the Wallabies has arrived
good news for the wallabies, Pocock is key but should be rested regardless against Scotland who should in turn be easier to beat without their first choice Hooker and one of their locks…. anyone know how good their depth is in this area?
Scottish duo cited, Pocock free to play
C’mon Decs, if Cooper had the game Foley did on the weekend he would have been crucified…. Foley finally proved his best is on par with Cooper’s best last week but if he reverts back to what we just saw on the weekend then I’m going back to thinking we’re better off with Cooper who has at least put in multiple performances at that level and is not just a one hit wonder…
Five talking points from the Wallabies' win over Wales
That was “pre-tournament”… what are you predicting now? Anything changed?
I’m smelling a French upset over the All Blacks… they’ll be primed for revenge after the 2011 final and we all know what they’re capable of in RWC knockout stages…
Unfortunately this is not good for Australia as I think of the French tumble the All Blacks in the QF, they’ll be a walk over for SA in the SF, and assuming Australia make it to the final, I think a relatively fresh SA side will be harder to beat than a knackered NZ (after exhausting games against the French and SA).
Boks have gone largely under the radar this tournament thanks to their sensational loss to Japan, but I think they are still serious contenders…
Rugby World Cup: Courageous Ireland suffer horror injury toll
eJ, do you know how far 30 meters is? It’s not as far as you think it is….
Wallabies win a triumph of guts, determination, and plenty of luck
I think when we went down to 13 they should have taken the points, go back to the middle and start again… we had no halfback and an even weaker lineout (an area they were already dominating)… so it likely would have been quite easy to get territory and score against 13 from a more open field position than being 5m from the line against desperate defence…

Five talking points from the Wallabies' win over Wales
Backs were hugely disappointing…. Foley went backwards after a brilliant game last week.. caught the Phipps disease with some awful passing at times (or maybe it was because he was trying to pass long and couldn’t control the direction)?

I’d definitely have Horwill over Mumm…
Five talking points from the Wallabies' win over Wales
But disrespectful to McMahon to say Hooper was missed… I thought McMahon had a great game, easily on par with what we’ve come to expect from Hooper…
Five talking points from the Wallabies' win over Wales
Point well made Dave. I’m happy that Foley has finally shown he can play at the same level as Cooper. I still think Cooper is far more talented, but it’s good for the Wallabies of Foley can bring that kind of game to the table. Big questions are can he do it co consistently, and will he still be able to produce when opposition’s start working on plans to shut him down?
Wallabies are World Cup favourites: Waugh
Get off your high horse cs, until the England game, Foley hadn’t shown any signs he was even capable of producing a quade-esqe performance. The doubts about Foley were more than justified. Only person that needed to “cstch-up” was Foley catching up with Cooper’s standard of play… he’s now shown he has a higher level of game in him. Great. I’ve no doubt if Cooper had as many chances as Foley did, he’d also be playing equally as well. cut the cr@p and admit you just don’t like Cooper….
Quade who? Foley is clearly Australia's first-choice flyhalf
