Sorry Peter, but I disagree. A penalty inside the 22 is almost a sure 3 points while outside the 22 the probabilities are diminishing. The defending team will be more willing to make more penalties in that area where the damage is less severe , and inside the 22 is exactly the place where the defending team should be more careful of making penalties.

It is not that easy as you claim, but yes , it is nobody fault that argentina cannot secure a profesional tournament for their players to play . We are just fighting not to become like Fidji or Samoa in these terms where their best players are overplayed and underpay in Europe. In many cases their contracts do not allow them to play for their countries. But FB , colonialisms is almost over.

The Wallabies won by two points in a game where they could have lost in when the Scottish Fly half missed a very makable penalty in the last minute of the game . As a result of that they moved up three places in the ranking. If that happens a week prior the cut off day to seat the nations in the next WC it may very well place the Wallabies in much better group. It does not seems pretty fair to me.

Do you think that a win or loose away have the same value when your away is next door vs having to cross several time zones and different weather when you travel from North to South or viceversa?
