Yeah they get poached in the juniors. Correct.

'They laughed at us': Snobby slap down driving Force gun - and why he's needed a chip on his shoulder

Rebels owe like 20 million dollars. It isn’t like Phil Waugh is thinking “better leak a negative story to The Roar or people will think the Rebels are going great!”.

'Own worst enemy': Rebels' month from hell continues as Brumbies smash Aussie rivals, Lolesio's timely reminder

We are in the context of junior footy here Cec. Keep up.

'They laughed at us': Snobby slap down driving Force gun - and why he's needed a chip on his shoulder

Brumbies players don’t swap jerseys with NSW, they already have one from before they got poached.

I agree. Seemed to have no awareness that momentum was with them. Kept on slowing things down rather than attacking, which is silly when they have such a potent back three.

Even waiting for the scrum penalty seemed foolish at times, several of them were in good attacking positions, take the opportunity that’s already there!

Mesu is gone for the season already..

'Living in the darkness': The gap year that saw new Tah learn about 'tough work'- and why he's stoked to be home

I agree. You can’t mis-manage an income if there is no income and Melbourne super rugby crowds are very low. Those crowds might go up if the Rebels become competitive, this is true of all the Aus Super teams. How do we become competitive? maybe by having only 4 teams..

Nobody wants this to be the reality because it’s more fun having 5 times to follow. But it has been 10 years now since we had a team in the final. Have to get real eventually.

CONFIRMED: Rebels fall into voluntary administration as Rugby Australia seeks 'sustainable and successful future'

“Vast Minority” would be a great name for a punk band.

'How do I get out of Australian rugby?' Wallaby's anguish after year from hell - and why there are 'no excuses' for Rebels

Give him a two year contract. Just so we don’t have people say “it’s ok we’re rebuilding” after we lose every game like we did with Rennie.

Exclusive: Wallabies to turn to Kiwi Schmidt as Eddie Jones' replacement

I took my sons to the Wollongong training day. My son Miles went up to Miles Amatosero and said “we got the same name”. Amatosero was very good with him. Put him in his shoulders (u can see him in the photo) wrote a special message on his footy.
He is now my sons favorite player, which is great because it was Marky Marky and that situation wasn’t gonna last.

'I took it hard': RWC heartache that saw snubbed Wallabies star get off the grid - and the inspiration driving him now

Sure but it should represent the people of the nation who are in some way connected to Rugby. No need to give a vote to the desert.

'What a shame': McLennan GONE as Rugby Australia name World Cup-winner chairman to bookend wild year

I don’t think WA=Force.

'What a shame': McLennan GONE as Rugby Australia name World Cup-winner chairman to bookend wild year

3 out of 5 super teams and the players association supported Hamish. 2 out of 5 super teams and a few states who provide 0 super rugby players and negligible participation wanted him out and won.

Maybe they’re right to knife him but with all due respect to Northern Territory Rugby et al…. the board voting system could use a little reform.

I mean there are more teams in the Illawarra Comp than in any of those 3 states/territories.

'What a shame': McLennan GONE as Rugby Australia name World Cup-winner chairman to bookend wild year

Except for that part where he made a break, kicked, got on the Wales player and won the turnover. He did all of the things you mentioned in about 8 seconds.

Eddie's painful reminder of what might have been at World Cup as big name Wallabies star despite Baabaas defeat

It is perplexing. Why would he give up the chance to coach against the Lions and a home World Cup to coach Japan who look like they are on the way down?

REPORT: Eddie Jones to quit Wallabies and join Japan as head coach

I mean you lecturing and correcting the nation of Australia and it’s attitude to rugby is somewhat arrogant also.

Do any young New South Welshmen actually want to play for the Waratahs?

Do any young New South Welshmen actually want to play for the Waratahs?

Play Super AU after super season. A bloke like Mosese Tuipulutu gets few chances in the main Super season but is good enough that Scotland want him. A comp without the test players would give him an opportunity. The Fijian bloke the Waratahs signed from League could have played in it and would be much better prepared for 2024.

No more new teams. I took my son to a NSW Country Eagles game once, he got a shirt, he liked it. 2 games later the season was over and he had to wait 10 months before they played again. How can you get a kid to follow a team they will forget existed? How many rugby teams can anyone care about?

Let the super teams play, it can’t be too expensive, they found money for 16 year olds to play the exact same comp this month.

Shrinking Super Rugby isn't the solution to Australian rugby's problems, expanding the game below it is

Kerevi has been horrendous. Paisami in 2020 was better than Kerevi in 2023.

'Fall guy': Eddie doubles down on future, makes three changes as Wallabies sweat on RWC miracle

Wallabies attack was built on kicking and Kerevi crashing it up and getting them on the front foot. Kicking was poor and Kerevi flopped completely. A fit Hunter Paisami would have been better.

They should have dropped Kerevi already but imagine the stick Jones would get then!

Brett, they don’t have “Rugby League” written on their birth certificate. If they go to school and play rugby they are rugby players. They might play league as well and Peter V’Landys might pay their tuition but they remain rugby players and viable options for RA.

Besieged Wallabies throw lucrative deal at Crichton in bid to lure Roosters star back to rugby - with a Super twist

Yeah that’s a good point. If rugby has no chance of winning them over then it’s a wasted opportunity.

I’m not saying Rugby kids get stolen. I don’t think rugby kid and league kid is much of a thing anymore. A false classification. Increasingly the pathway to League and Union is the same. GPS schools hoover up all the Isaiya Katoa types and the kid has to decide which path to take.
The better rugby gets at pushing them toward rugby the better the Wallabies will go.

This is excellent. Everyone keeps saying we need to sort out our pathways before signing Rugby League players but Crichton is a product of Rugby’s pathways. He exemplifies what the pathway’s can produce.
It seems to me that the Aus pathways are not that bad, the problem is that eventually the path splits and many of the players produced go in the direction of rugby league. It is that last part where Rugby has a problem.
So getting Chrichton back is great. As is the upcoming under 19s and 16s Super Comp and the effort being made to give them a media profile, some kind of sense that they belong in Rugby.
Indeed I think what Rugby Australia does with this teenage talent matters more than how they deal with Eddie Jones. If these young players stay on the rugby path Australian Rugby will rise again.
Amen.

Wallabies should bring Swinton in for Jorgensen. If they insist on the power game they need power. Leota has had more than enough chances and does nothing.

Swinton will probably get a red card but at this stage who cares? Take the risk.

ANALYSIS: Why the Wallabies' breakdown woes could be helped from outside their own camp
