Hi Suneer. Good to hear from you again. Have a good blog 🙂

Australia vs England: Third ODI cricket live scores, blog, highlights

I’m sorry mate. This was an absolute joke of a pitch. I believe Cricket Australia are required to answer as to why it was so poor. Why try to make out it was interesting? It wasn’t. It was so bad they couldn’t even get Mitch Marsh out twice and he’s freakin’ woeful!

Melbourne draw has enhanced this Ashes series, not detracted from it

Another great day for England and it’s my birthday too. Thanks, Cooky 😉

This is where Australia were at end of day1

Thanks for your input, Geoff. However, I do think no balls could be checked well before the bowler has walked back to his mark. If you think about it, the TV shows a replay of the ball before the next delivery anyway. Why not let the 3rd umpire see a replay of the delivery stride and adjudicate immediately by alerting the umpire to any no balls? I find it interesting that the TV cameras are obviously honed in on the delivery stride all the time. Imagine if they started showing all the dodgy no ball decisions. I bet you they’d be a change then.

Question for Roarers. Davey Warner is adjudged LBW by the umpire and decides not to review, but walk. He is called back as a check on the dismissal shows a clear no ball. James Vince is similarly adjudged LBW and decides not to review, but walk. A check on the dismissal indicates a clear inside edge, but he is not called back. Does that seem right? Also, if we’re only going to check each dismissal for a no ball, shouldn’t the 3rd umpire check every delivery for a no ball, because god knows how many are being missed!?

Can’t believe they reviewed that catch.

Why would he? Someone coming in to replace Handscomb, due to his poor form, is the foundation of the article. But if you want to know, it’s 20.66

Picking Mitch Marsh over Maxwell is madness

Let me give you an example, Matthew. You’re gay, but haven’t made it common knowledge. Someone taunts you with homophobic slurs. See where I’m going here?

I was stitched up on 'headbutt': Bairstow

It saddens me that we talk about needing a 5th bowler to ease the burden on other bowlers, all because they’re playing on a road. It’s time CA stopped playing at the WACA and putting on complete batfests. I’d much rather see a test match at Bellerive Oval, giving both batsmen and bowlers a chance to shine. Including England’s last visit to the WACA, the average innings total is around 400. That includes 4 second innings totals over 350 and 4 declarations. In fact the average score per wicket has been 43.3

If Australia need a fifth bowling option, Mitch Marsh is about the only option

Obviously, one of the Aussies overstepped the mark. If they didn’t, let them use the same tactic and see if Bairstow takes the matter further. I’m guessing they know they went too far and wont repeat it.

And can someone turn that bloody powershop ad off…it’s giving me a headache!

I couldn’t agree with you more, re the BS and I’m a great fan of Smithy too. Ronan loves to stir the pot. I’m not far from Adelaide myself. Enjoy the game 🙂

England are losing the Ashes psychological war and Australia know it

Let’s just take a step back. Jimmy Anderson has simply changed tactic and had a pop back at the Aussies. His plan seems to have worked, as it has elicited the following response from Smithy. “I read the article. I think it’s interesting coming from Jimmy calling us bullies and big sledgers. I think he’s one of the biggest sledgers in the game to be perfectly honest with you. To me in particular. I remember back in 2010 when I first started and wasn’t any good he was pretty happy to get stuck into me then. Interesting coming from Jimmy.” So, now Jimmy is in Smithy’s head. Well played…

HaHaHa! You’re almost as funny as a Dan Liebke article…

England rattled by Aussie comeback

Your comment is irrelevant to the point I was making…

England rattled by Aussie comeback

I wouldn’t be too critical of England, Ronan. Without Smith, Australia would be dead and buried. One man team? Did you read Geoff Lemon’s article today?

England rattled by Aussie comeback

I think the question was…”How can we give the poor poms a bit of a chance to make the series less one sided? I know…snigger, snigger…let’s pick Shaun Marsh”.

Pity they didn’t pick his even more useless brother, that may well have evened things up a bit…

If Shaun Marsh is the answer, you have to wonder what the question was

No mate. The law states before the ball is released. Your assertion that it is only controversial because people decide it is and if we all agreed it was ok it wouldn’t be, is laughable. That’s like saying if we all agreed that Trump was a great president he wouldn’t be controversial. Duh!

Salman the sportsman? Am I missing something?

Interesting observation regarding baseball, Chris. I did some fact checking on your point and found that the pitcher cannot pull out of a pitch once he’s started (Rule 8). So, I’m afraid you’re wrong there. Also, base stealing is very much part of their game and they even have stats on bases stolen (BS) and caught stealing (CS). Apparently, Ty Cobb stole base 892 times! So, very different here. I don’t believe the two are comparable. I think mankading will always be a controversial rarity in the game, with both supporters (e.g. Don Bradman) and detractors like Darren Lehmann…

The theory of running the non striker out before you’ve bowled, because they’ve left their crease to gain an advantage is fine. However, the way it is carried out always looks to me as so deceitful. I’m sure the bowler premeditates the decision to mankad before they start their run up. So, going through the motion of pretending to bowl and then at the last second whipping the bails off is just a sneaky underhanded act. Call it unsportsmanlike if you want. I do agree with Jameswm’s comment around at least giving a warning first. Maybe another more radical solution would be to alter the rules of cricket, such that if the non striker leaves the crease before the ball is bowled, it is a no-ball, with the run going to the fielding side. Bit of a nightmare for the umpires though…

Try doing a little research. Somalia has 73% poverty and is among the world’s poorest nations. Not racist, just some speculation based on fact.

“A true definition of casual racism.” Political correctness BS…

How did England get to this point?

Dominic, to answer your question regarding future rankings, if Australia lose their next 2 ODI’s to India and England win their next 2 ODI’s against West Indies, England will jump to 3rd, 2 points ahead of Australia. However, if England lose a match or Australia win a match they will be equal 3rd. If Australia win a match and England lose a match, Australia will remain 3rd outright. Also, if Australia win both remaining matches, they will remain 3rd regardless.

Congratulations to Bangers. Great to see a minnow test team growing into a bigger fish. Also, congratulations to the Windies for their >300 5th day win. Love to see test match cricket being so enthralling…
