Hasler, Flanagan or someone with fresh ideas - who looks right for Dragons’ coaching job when Griffin gets hooked?
You’re right there. I was hoping the Woods homecoming to the Tigers would eventuate. Both he and Mbye are complete duds that have no right to be in the top 17
NRL ladder prediction: Part 2 - Will under-fire Hook be first coach to go?
That aside I can’t see the Dragons finishing that low. We’ve punted a couple of deadweights and Sullivan should be playing every week with Sloan at fullback. Awesome combination. 10th to 15th is a big drop and we’ve pretty much got the same team
NRL ladder prediction: Part 2 - Will under-fire Hook be first coach to go?
So are the Dragons finishing 15th or 14th? You seem a bit confused. Another expert putting the boot in and assuming the Dragons will slide down the ladder. It’s getting boring
NRL ladder prediction: Part 2 - Will under-fire Hook be first coach to go?
And they don’t play until Sunday night in round 2. That should earn them another point
Dragons 2023 Outlook: As St George Illawarra stare down wooden spoon, is Griffin about to get Hook?
The Dragons do have a five eighth in Jayden Sullivan and also Jack Bird can play there too. They have an impressive young hooker that comes from the Melbourne system looking for an opportunity and probably offers more than Liddle. Forwards aren’t great but they have one of the better backlines and Sloan is a prodigiously talented fullback. They finished 2022 12 and 12 but the author expects them to implode and drop to 16th. Can’t wait for the season to start so the Dragons can start proving couch experts wrong. I cam see them getting off to a fast start and they have the Titans twice in the opening six weeks and always get up for Anzac Day
Dragons 2023 Outlook: As St George Illawarra stare down wooden spoon, is Griffin about to get Hook?
I guarantee you the Dogs and Storm would also trot out a second string side. It means nothing to them why would they field their best 17? A lot of confusion on this site about what a trial game is
NRL Trials: How high would St Helens finish in the NRL? Can anyone stop the Panthers? Should we call a taxi for Anthony Griffin?
It was a pre season trial no one was misled. Teams don’t trot out their full side until the second week anyway. You’re clutching at straws with your vague incoherent logic
NRL Trials: How high would St Helens finish in the NRL? Can anyone stop the Panthers? Should we call a taxi for Anthony Griffin?
It was the Dragons’ first trial of the year why would they trot out their full strength team? Trials are for giving young guys a run, so based on your logic every team is being disrespectful to each other? Thanks for your comment I needed a good laugh
NRL Trials: How high would St Helens finish in the NRL? Can anyone stop the Panthers? Should we call a taxi for Anthony Griffin?
I know it’s just a trial but if Charlie Staines is their bests option at fullback they’re in a world of trouble. He offers nothing
'Pretty shocking': New year, same Tigers as Warriors hand Sheens hefty defeat in first trial of 2023
The Dragons need a good hooker and I’m not excited about Jacob Liddle. Mulheisen played well in NSW Cup last year and the new guy Finau has big wraps on him. I would like to see one of those two step up and make the 9 jersey theirs

The Roosters have better third party deals which completely undermines the whole reason we have a salary cap
The once magic Dragons have run out of puff
I’m not convinced Griffin is the man to lead us back to the finals unless he promotes our wealth of junior talent but time will tell. Certainly we gave a kind draw in the first couple of months
The once magic Dragons have run out of puff
I think the Dragons can surprise everyone and play finals. Their outside backs are a good mix of youth and experience and Hunt was the best player last year I don’t care who won the Dally M. For all the criticism the pack cops and, yes, the club is probably short a couple of elite props, they only finished a couple of wins outside the 8 last year. Losing Amone, Bird and Ramsey isn’t ideal but that gives others an opportunity to stand up. Young Finau should be elevated to the top 30 by the start of the season and is probably a better option at hooker than Liddle.

Johns won his accolades in, as you suggest, a weaker team. That makes achievements at club level even greater. Lockyer was part of a very good Broncos career for his entire career
25 in 25: Best player of NRL era - Smith, Lockyer, Johns, Thurston, Slater, Inglis, Tallis, Fittler?
Lockyer may have played fullback but his role was as an extra playmaker so I’m unsure what you’re talking about. They were both playmakers one in the 1 jersey the other in the 7 jersey. Johns and NSW were dominant in that period as the results show. Lockyer was great but Johns was better. More prolific pointscorer, significantly better defender and was the main reason the Knights won 2 comps
25 in 25: Best player of NRL era - Smith, Lockyer, Johns, Thurston, Slater, Inglis, Tallis, Fittler?
Brett Morris should be in the top 20 comfortably. He scored 176 tries and was fantastic for NSW and Australia over a long period of time.
25 in 25: Best player of NRL era - Smith, Lockyer, Johns, Thurston, Slater, Inglis, Tallis, Fittler?
Lockyer won 3 titles to Johns’ 2. Interesting how this is significantly better. Johns also won the Dally M 3 times and between 1998-2002 was probably the best player in the world and dominated Lockyer at Origin during the early 2000s. Both great players but for me Johns was better and Smith the best overall
25 in 25: Best player of NRL era - Smith, Lockyer, Johns, Thurston, Slater, Inglis, Tallis, Fittler?
He has bulked up in the offseason so hopefully he puts his body on the line more. He has an entire season to become the Dragons’ long term fullback. No excuses

Race to the bottom: The NRL wooden spoon contenders
I think so too. Hunt was the best player last year I don’t care who win the Dally M. If he plays at least 20 games and the likes of Ravilawa and Suli stay fit they will be up there. For all the criticism their pack cops, they have ok props in Francis Molo, an Origin rep and Blake Lawrie. S’ua is a Samoan rep and De Belin was an Origin player prior to bring stood down. Hooker is a concern I don’t think Liddle is the answer

I agree there are serious problems at the club dating back a number of years but you are writing them off before a single game. Ridiculous
