I’m sorry, but Sydneysiders are way too well-known for changing NRL teams a few times in their life.

Gee, I wish I’d known this 30 years ago! Would have saved me a lot of heartache!

The Melbourne Storm are great, not boring

We need to cull the number of Sydney clubs commensurate with support (here’s looking at you Manly) and expanding to become truly national. Perth, Adelaide, Brisbane 2 and maybe even somewhere like Geelong may be where the future of our sport lies.

How can anyone look at the NRL and think: “I know what will make this competition great – more clubs like the Gold Coast Titans.”

I mean, seriously…

The Melbourne Storm are great, not boring

Very true Baz – I hate the Storm with a passion, but still cheered for them to beat the Bulldogs in 2012. If the Roosters had been playing on Sunday night, I would have happily cheered for the Storm again.

Those league fans outside Sydney will never understand that their shiny new clubs will NEVER provoke the same passion that we Sydney league fans feel towards our own clubs and their immediate and traditional rivals.

Sorry guys, but you’re just not important enough to generate any real hatred.

The Melbourne Storm are great, not boring

What a weekend!

Surely Tom Melbourne can’t finally put it together in the Epsom, can he? Surely!

Huge weekend of racing: Group 1 previews

Funny thing about Aaron Woods is that I always used to think he was a World Class front rower, and now suddenly I agree with people who think he is a powder puff…

Very strange.

Where the Dally M Team of the Year went wrong

Yeah – I think that’s fair enough.

Where the Dally M Team of the Year went wrong

Also, mentioning Jesse Bromwich as a potential prop of the year is wildly wide of the mark! He was great last season, but has been very ordinary in 2017.

Where the Dally M Team of the Year went wrong

Might be a bit of bias in Simon’s selections I reckon…

Without having ever met the bloke, I am reasonably certain in my assumption that he’s a Broncos supporting Queenslander…

Where the Dally M Team of the Year went wrong

A few very, very strange selections from the Dally M judges, and from you Simon!

Gillette is no-where near the best second rower in the NRL. This season it was probably Felise Kaufusi from the Storm, but Boyd Cordner has a good argument.

Jason Taumalolo is the best forward in the game, never mind the best lock! Should have walked it in for best lock.

Paul Vaughan was the best prop, again pretty clearly.

And why isn’t David Nofoaluma ever in the argument for the winger awards? Top 5 in the league for total run meters and tackle breaks… hardest working winger in the comp, playing in a team that struggled during the first half of the year.

Where the Dally M Team of the Year went wrong

My response exactly, Ronan.

That footage is absolutely damning… There is simply NO WAY that he can represent his country in an Ashes tour after that.

England's odd Ashes squad no recipe for success

Nah – have you seen the video footage?

It’s pretty brutal. He absolutely lays out a couple of blokes in a drunken street brawl… absolutely no way England can pick him to represent them in an Ashes series.

Absolutely NO WAY.

Ballance and Vince? I'm not convinced

Having seen the pics being run by The Sun, there is NO WAY known to man that Ben Stokes will be touring Australia this summer. The ECB simply cannot sweep this under the carpet.

Without him… well, things start looking a bit dire for the Poms.

If Australia can field any three of Starc, Hazelwood, Cummins and Pattinson with any regularity through the series, then yet another whitewash isn’t out of the question.

Ballance and Vince? I'm not convinced

Oh yeah – Hunt! So potentially SEVEN better halfbacks than NSW first option?

Geez…

I wonder what happens in NSW footy to stop the development of talented playmakers?

Michael Morgan has to shoot the lights out for Cowboys

Some of these people need to attend a Year 7 economics class and learn a little bit about supply & demand.

I wonder whether they are confused about ticket prices being higher for the Grand Final than for a Titans v Roosters game on a Saturday afternoon.

I wonder whether they think Taylor Swift should charge the same price for tickets to her concerts as the local RSL charges to see a cover band.

I wonder whether they get upset that the cost of chocolate eggs goes up every April.

Make Sydney flight fares fair for fans: Cowboys CEO

Morgan has been brilliant at 7 in these Finals – his kicking game is brilliant for a bloke who was a running five-eighth a few months ago!

Seriously, how many halfbacks have QLD got that are clearly better than NSW best option? Four? Five? Six?

Cronk, Thurston, Cherry-Evans and now Morgan. Ash Taylor? Probably. Corey Norman? It’s certainly possible!

Not ideal for Blues fans!

Michael Morgan has to shoot the lights out for Cowboys

Sorry – you’re right!

Sydney born & bred, currently residing in Brissy!

No Sydney teams in AFL or NRL grand finals

Great decision.

Bravo to the AFL and the MRP – can’t have been easy to make the correct decision under such pressure.

Bring on Saturday afternoon!

Cotch-in! Tigers captain free to play in AFL grand final

Oh – I have absolutely NO DOUBT that Tedesco will be registered under the salary cap with the Roosters for a lower amount than was being offered by the Tigers!

Absolutely no doubt at all!

But I am also certain that he will be benefitting financially in innumerable other ways – ways that aren’t reported under the salary cap (whether legal or illegal or in the grey area in between).

It’s why the current system is so unworkable – a player can earn more, but take up less cap space, at certain clubs than others!

Where was the passion, desire and belief?

“Every club has access to those TPA agreements and start from the same point..”

Except, this isn’t true, is it?

Newcastle and Canberra, in particular, have spoken about the lack of commercial centres in their respective cities, which greatly reduces the possibility of TPAs.

Where was the passion, desire and belief?

Twitter lighting up with people claiming Cotchin has been cleared…

Not sure how much credence to put in it, but that’s what’s happening!

MRP and AFL caught in a Cotch 22

The problem with your logic is that the current salary cap effectively provides massive concessions for Third Party Agreements – meaning that the clubs with access to those agreements are starting at a massive advantage.

Further – the NRL effectively outsources its junior development activities to the clubs. To provide little or no meaningful support (especially in Western Sydney where the AFL and FFA are spending big) is playing with fire.

Where was the passion, desire and belief?

Couldn’t agree more – finally some common sense in these otherwise fraught times.

May as well make it touch footy if these sorts of incidents are going to result in players missing Grand Finals.

MRP and AFL caught in a Cotch 22

Well this Sydney-sider thinks that seeing the Cowboys and Richmond in the respective Grand Finals has produced MUCH more interesting games than the Roosters or GWS would have.

I reckon more (if not all) other Sydney-siders would agree!

No Sydney teams in AFL or NRL grand finals

Living in Brissy, it’s actually brilliant to see how quickly the Courier Mail has dumped the Broncos – who typically have 8-10 pages dedicated to them every single day – and jumped on the Cowboys bandwagon!

Love it.

No Sydney teams in AFL or NRL grand finals

Is it possibly because the Roosters are – in reality – a bunch of blokes playing for a pay cheque? They are not born and bred, with the blood of the club running through their veins, but rely on talented players who they poach from other clubs using TPAs etc etc.

Teddy is the latest example – a Tiger through and through who has had his head turned by the cash… Will he be willing to put his body on the line for his new cashed-up employers in the same way as he does for his beloved Tigers? Only time will tell…

Meanwhile, the Cowboys were playing for something more than a third-party agreement. They represent their region, and play with absolute pride and determination because of it.

Where was the passion, desire and belief?
