Game – Tomic.
Another good hold from Tomic after losing the opening point. Let’s see if he can build any pressure on Djokovic here.

Game – Djokovic.
Another strong hold to love for Novak. He is serving at 73% winning 75% of his first serves. Using the wide serve to the deuce court and mixing up his serve well on the ad court.

Good hold from the Aussie. Holding his own despite the scoreline. Must keep his composure against the Serb. Good quality first serving and fantastic use of the slice.

Game – Djokovic.
Quality serving from Djokovic. Seven aces already and using his power and precision to the best of his ability. Tomic will need to try and grind out some momentum at the back end of this set. The world number one is looking ominous.

Game – Djokovic.
A very loose game from Tomic. Djokovic was able to keep the pressure up on Tomic and he faulted badly on that service game. Djokovic now with a decisive break in the opening set.

Game – Djokovic.
A long tough game and the number one seed prevails. Tomic looks to be hitting the ball pretty well though. A lot of power from his forehand side and keeping his own in the rallies. Bernard may be quite competitive today. The ball striking from
both players is high class. Good quality match so far.

Game – Tomic. Good aggression from the Aussie. Using his forehand to good effect yet we are already seeing superior defensive skills from Novak.

A terrific match tonight on Night 2 of the Australian Open. Join me tomorrow night for Bernard Tomic’s second round encounter.
On another good day for the Aussies, it may well of been Gael Monfils who stole the show.

GAME/FOURTH SET – Monfils.
Into a 5th!
Gael Monfils has come back from two sets down to take this into a fifth. Incredible stuff from Monfils! Pouille hasn’t played badly since having a two sets lead, rather Monfils has just lifted. With all the momentum to Monfils you would think he would take out this match, however Pouille is still a real chance here.
This should be a cracking final set. This is why we love sport!

Game and First Set – Djokovic.
Convincing from the world number one. He takes the set in 23 minutes and looks to be cruising. Tomic didn’t do a lot wrong in that set except for one service game. That’s all it took for Novak to make him pay. First blood to the Serb.
