After defeating Giles Simon just on five hours ago, Alex de Minuar will look to complete the rare task of winning two separate singles matches on the same day.
The weather has forced his hand and through no fault of his own, the heat must surely make him the outsider in this match.
Simon was noticeably fatigued yet kept the Australian on court for near two hours, in a match that both appeared to want completed as quickly as humanly possible.
Seppi, on the other hand, potentially had a nice nights sleep and enjoyed a day out of the fierce heat that woke Sydney residents this morning.
His semi-final victory against Diego Schwartzman was far less taxing and the 34 year-old veteran will be a difficult proposition for the 19 year-old Australian.
The Italian will play a patient game, waiting to unleash powerful ground strokes at the right time and, considering the circumstances, will be happy to keep de Minaur on court for as long as it takes.
De Minaur will need to take the initiative and shorten points where possible, in order to overcome the fatigue that must surely set in at some point.
It will be an enormous challenge for the Australian, yet with youth on his side and a bold, aggressive approach, miracles could happen.
Prediction
Seppi should be too fresh for de Minaur in this one and will prove a very patient and defiant wall from the back of the court.
To have any chance, de Minaur will need to serve far better than he did this morning yet the Italian should be able to notch another ATP title with a win on Ken Rosewall arena.
