The Group 1 Caulfield Cup (2400m) will see a full field of 18, plus four emergencies, with declarations made this morning for the $3 million race, ahead of this afternoon’s barrier draw
Favourite before the barrier draw is New Zealand and Australian Derby winner Mongolian Kahn, at $5 on Bet365.
Trainer Chris Waller will have three chances in the race, Who Shot Thebarman, Grand Marshal and Royal Descent – while trainer Kris Lees has 2014 Melbourne Cup winner Protectionist, and last year’s Caulfield Cup placegetter Lucia Valentina in the race.
Leading international chances include Melbourne Cup favourite Fame Game, Snow Sky, and Hokko Brave.
European raider Quest For More is the first emergency.
