Although not the bling club of the A-League, Adelaide United are one of the most consistent sides in the competition, but are perhaps best known for their Asian Champions league exploits. Adelaide became the first team in Australian football history to make the Champions League final in what was an historic moment for Australian football. Adelaide eventually went down in the final to Gamba Osaka of Japan, but not before signalling the arrival of Australian football to the world stage.
