Akuila Uate will be free to play for the NSW Blues in the second 2011 State of Origin game after his spear tackle was deemed as a grade one dangerous throw. With Uate not previously suspended, an early plea will reduce the 125 point charge to just 93 points – seven points short of a week on the sidelines.

Uate made the awkward tackle on rookie Tim Simona against the Wests Tigers in Monday night football. His Newcastle Knights team lost 17-16 in double golden point overtime.

He escapes suspension and the Blues team will be looking for his hard running against the Queensland Maroons in the second game of Origin. This also means Jamal Idris, who was touted as a replacement, will not be making a late call-up.

Queensland have avoided the dramas around the New South Wales team, with Josh Dugan ruled out yesterday which saw fullback Anthony Minichello make a stunning comeback to Origin after four years out of the side due to long-term back problems.
