All racing fans have been thriving to see mighty mare Atlantic Jewel grace the race track once again after her dominating performance in the Memsie Stakes a fortnight ago. Join us for the 2013 WH Stocks Stakes at 2.10pm AEST.

The WH Stock Stakes is a Group 2 standard weight-for-age for four-year-old and upwards mares and this year’s event looks to be dominated by the unbeaten Fastnet Rock five-year-old mare Atlantic Jewel.

Mark Kavanagh has opted for the Stock Stakes as Atlantic Jewel’s second-up run and in doing so will keep his two stable stars separated, running Memsie Stakes runner-up Super Cool in the Dato Tan Chin Nam Stakes.

Atlantic Jewel will be nothing short of poetry in motion at Mooney Valley on Saturday. Michael Rodd will have her under a strong hold as she glides to the line.

Coming off a 70-week break there is a slight query of how she will go second-up.

I can not envisage any ‘second up syndrome’ here, she will easily keep her unbeaten record intact.

It’s definitely going to be a sit and watch (in awe) race for me. Her odds of $1.10 will only appeal to the big punter looking for a better return than their regular investment.

Away from the superstar mare, it looks to be a great battle for second.

I thought Fibrillation’s run first up was excellent for her new stable. The 1600m will suit and she meets her last-start rivals around two kilograms better at the weights.

The winner of that race was Bec Said No Credit who also looks to have thrived with a change of stable to the Darren Weir yard. Race by race she has been making the step up in grade with ease.

In my opinion both Bec Said No Credit and Fibrillation will be fighting it out for 2nd.

Oasis Bloom won this race last year after leading all the way. Both starts so far this prep she has loomed up and looked like winning but has flattened out as she reaches the final stages.

The step out to 1600m will suit and as there is no likely leader in the race she could well take up the lead and maybe hold on for a place.

Be sure to tune in from 2.10pm AEST for all the live updates surrounding the sports current superstar mare Atlantic Jewel.
